Fastpass: Surprise Fastpass

My son was in Epcot today and he said when he got a Fastpass for TestTrack, it also gave him a "surprise fastpass" for Honey I Shrunk the Audience. He was wondering how long this has been around, & if there are other attrations at WDW that does this. I told him if anybody knew, it would be somebody on the DIS!

Someone else had mentioned fastpass kicking out another one for a different attraction. Apparently it's very random. I wish we had search back up and I could find it.

I have had this happen once too, but it was on my first trip 2 years ago, so I don't remember the details. Apparently it is seldom and random. Just a cool little extra (or a mistake??)

Could be that they give bonus ones for unpopular rides from the popular ride fastpasses to get more people to go to them? I dont' know. Just a guess.

I didn't even check since search has been down since the upgrade. When did it come back up?

I can't find the reference to the random fastpass since I can't remember the wording. You never know when it's going to happen.

This has happened to us at Test Track on our last 4 trips. It is random and the FP for HISTA is usually, for us, late in the afternoon and TT is in the morning.

This has happened to us several times too. We'll get a fastpass for Buzz then the machines spits out a fastpass for Space Mountain.

Other times we've been given free fastpasses by the CMs, which lets us get another fastpass right away.

We had it happen to us Easter Sunday at TT. We didn't get to use the surprise FP because it was for later in the day, when we'd be heading to the airport.

Its happened to us to- honeyI shrunk the kids also. They need to update that ride too. Ive never gotten a surprise fastpass from any place else.
