Fastpass Superuser at WDW?

After reading an article about "Fastpass Superusers" at DL on miceage, I'm curious about WDW. Without getting into all the pros and cons of Fastpass I have a few questions...

Within one park, are all the fastpass systems on the same network (one of the big things in the miceage article was that not all are on the same network - expecially in DCA, so you can hold something like 14 Fastpasses at once)?

Are there any other "tricks" to the system at the WDW parks other than the normal ones?:p

I realize that fastpass is completely changing the way people move throughout the parks...and, at times (Test Track, for example) I wished there wouldn't be fastpasses because of all the neat stuff that scattered throughout the queue...

Thanks!

I am told that all the fastpass machines in each WDW park are supposed to be tied togheter, but that once in awhile a machine goes off line. If a fastpass is fetched from a machine that is off line, the guest will be able to fetch another fastpass from a different machine immediately.

If the wait between fastpasses on a particular day is "45 minutes or when your current fastpass matures whichever comes first" you can end up holding many more unexpired fastpasses than you might otherwise think.

I am sure that some folks will make a game out of how many fastpasses one can hold, just as there are always folks who try to break the time record for passing through all the stations on the New York subway system.

We have been able to hold 3 fastpasses per ticket on numerous occasions - have never had the inclination to figure out or try for four

I went to DLR last year. In mouseplanet.com got this tip:
Grizzlie River Rapids, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean were not connected to the FP system (I don't know if this is still true). And FP systems in both parks run independently.

So the plan in the morning was get FP for Grizzlie (doesn't count), FP for Soarin over California (block the DCA FP) then go to DL (5 minutes walk), and get FP for PoC, for Haunted Mansion, and for Indiana Jones Adventures (block the DL FP). So in that moment I had 5 FP's for the most popular attractions. Then you can get a 6th FP when the first FP gets the time to ride frame.
The problem comes when its time to ride, you have to run before the FP's begin to expire. (I still have the FP for Indiana Jones), never used it.

In WDW the distance between the parks can to this strategy very difficult.

NOTE The rides not connected to the FP system, issue FPs without a time for next FP message.

Do all admission media have to be "activated" before they will work in the fastpass machine? Last time we went, my dd and I went to Epcot with our AP's, plus the AP's of my dh and ds, because they were following shortly. We thought we would go get fastpasses for TT and then go back to the gate and meet them, so they could get in. The cm told us that wouldn't work, so we didn't do it.......but would it? Wasn't sure if she just thought that was a bad idea.

It will not work. My Seasonal pass was being rejected once for some strange reason at the gate. They ended up just letting me in without my pass being entered in their system. I ended up not being able to use it at the fast passes. I had already used it at a different park that morning and it worked fine.

At DL, if you miss your window on the fastpass, they will usually let you use it that day anyway. It just has to be after the time that your fastpass window begins. They figure that sometimes you get stuck in line somewhere, so it's not a big deal. We have used ours 4 hours after they were suppose to expire, and the CM didn't even blink.

I just read the article on Fastpasses at MiceAge and wondered if you can purchase the "enhanced" fastpass for WDW through WTC? Does anyone know?

Thanks,
Jonathan

bumping up - I also would like to know about "enhanced" Fastpass. Is this real? I called WDW and they said it's nothing that they offer.

~No, we don't offer "enhanced FP" at WDW.
~Yes, your admission media must be activated at the park turnstiles to work w/ FP. If not, the FP machines will print out a "NOT A VALID FP" message stating that your ticket is invalid.
~For the most part, and especially during peak seasons, all FP locations are connected. Splash, Space, Buzz, Pooh, and Pan are never disconnected, and even when one is disconnected, it is still connected to the turnstile system.
