This is the first time i am booking for a large group of us going to Disney World and im wondering how hard it is getting Fastpasses for a large group. We are a group of 11 staying outside so need to book at 30 days out. I'm wondering if its better to book in groups of 6 and 5 or maybe 4, 4, and 3. or does it not matter much and should just do all 11 together? We all plan on doing all the same rides and would like to do them together as well. Thanks in advance for your help.

It depends on what you want to ride. Before our onsite window opened, I practiced using 17 within a 30 day window. Things did show up, but not the headliners.

We were successful as a single group... got all the headliners for morning times, but that was 60+2 through 60+7.

Book what comes up as available, it is better than having no FP at all. Theater-style shows (such as AA and HOP) tend to work best for large groups without FP.

As far as the headliner attractions, as suggested by Klayfish you may have to split the group into smaller groups, also take a survey and see what each group member's must-see is, it could very well turn out that half of the group wants to do headliner attraction A while the other half may want to do headliner attraction B, once again this will make obtaining a FP easier with smaller group sizes.

My FP window is coming up at 60 days- will I have luck for 9 if I look for them together? (FOP and slinky, etc)

There were 7 of us - I did 2, 2 and 3 for the popular rides. Some of them started out without overlapping times, but by refreshing, I was able to get overlapping windows most of the time. The only one that I was not able to do that for was SDMT, I got it so 4 of us were able to ride together, then about a half hour later the other three went. I did not get FPs for SDD or FOP.

I did 12 at 60 days and did not split up. Got everything I wanted including SDD twice. Make sure to do SDD, FoP and 7DMT first, in that order.

I just booked for a party of 12 last week at 60 days and didn't have to split any up. Just try it with the full group first and if you have issues, then split up into smaller groups. But I don't think you need to do that from the get-go.

The only ride I had trouble with was Slinky Dog (couldn't get it at all for any of my days up to 60+4) but that was because there just weren't any fastpasses, not because of the size of my group (12). I had no issues getting fastpasses for everyone together, so unless you encounter issues, I don't think there's any need to split them up.
