Fastpass Reloading

When im in line i refresh every few few seconds amd it changes each time. One second will only give you 3 options .next you will have a dozen selections . Same with times
So true! Even changing the time I'm looking for by 30 minutes, the results are totally different.

Thanks all for the help on this. Since we're there every 5 - 8 years, I don't think I'm gonna take a lot of time in the parks to be on my phone. I've specifically said that this trip is gonna be the slowest pace and most laid-back of all.

The kiosks themselves in the parks really aren't useful for refreshing. The MDE app on smartphones is really how you can utilize refresh. I don't know if you can even refresh on the kiosks to be honest.

When you go up to the kiosks and look up availability, it is "refreshing" the listings. If you don't find anything you like, you back out and then try again. It's pulling the same data as the app (at least, I assume it's the same data).

I`ve heard you can supposedly get almost anything the night before your park day. Is that true?
Yes, night before and day of all FP's can be found. Results will vary depending on party size, ride, time spent searching, etc.

True, however being able to click on the same time over and over again without having to completely back out is significantly faster and more productive/conducive to finding those hard to get FPs.

Obviously standing in line for a different line or going to a kiosk is a no-brainer ... and you wouldn't want to spend a lot of time at the kiosk just refreshing if you have the opportunity to do something else in the park.

But it would be interesting to do a speed test to see which is faster, if we're timing based on refreshing the app versus clicking the back button a couple of times to return to the time selection. I'd expect the kiosk to have a quicker connection to the data and not rely on mobile data or general park wifi, although I don't know that for certain.

I generally use the kiosk only for the fifth (and on) FastPass selections - that's still the only way to get those, right?

You can use the MDE app on your phone to get additional FP's....it's also very fast as you can just keep hitting the same time over and over, not having to go back.

Nope, you can use the app on your phone. Or you can use the mobile version of the website on your phone. Hitting the same time that you already selected on the app takes <1 second to refresh, it is 100% going to be faster than hitting the back button at the kiosk and having to return, which would take at least 5-10 seconds. My usual strategy is to get my next FP while I'm in line for my previous FP. I almost always have my next FP lined up before I even get on that ride.

The app is FAR quicker than using a kiosk, both from a convenience standpoint and even a sheer speed standpoint. I haven't used a kiosk in quite a while, but my memory of them is they were a bit slow in loading. MDE is pretty quick.

I was just about to say this. The last time I used the kiosks it seemed slow to load, and also a little finicky. The app has always been very fast and can be utilized literally anywhere in the park. You also might have to wait in line at the kiosks. If you don't have the app or a smartphone, then the kiosks are obviously the way to go. Otherwise though there's really no reason to use the kiosks if you can use the app, they don't benefit you any way.

At WDW, you can use the app for any FP. The consecutive number of the fp doesn't matter. 2nd, 5th, 12th - doesn't matter.

I'd be able to get fastpasses several times over while someone was walking to a kiosk. Include that in your time test.

Heck, I'd be on the MDE app trying to find a FP kiosk to get to. Might as well just use the app. I know there are plenty more, but the only ones I've ever used were the ones in Tomorrowland kinda near the pplmvr and buzz. I only used those just to try them and see how they worked. They do have nice big screens
