Fastpass Question

Hello all, WDW vet here! I can't exactly remember how the Fastpass system works now that I'm used to FP+ at WDW. Is there a limit on the number of Fastpasses you can get? DH and I are taking our first trip to DL this Saturday, and I'm trying to come up with our Fastpass plan. Should we run in and get Fastpasses for Hyperpace Mountain and BTMRR as soon as we get there? Should we get one for Matterhorn as well, or just utilize the single rider line for that? I'd definitely appreciate anyone's advice on their strategy, as I know it's going to be a crowded Saturday! Thanks in advance!

When you pull a FP you can get another FP after 2 hours or when the return window opens, which ever comes first. The time your next FP is available will be listed at the bottom. Currently Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is the only ride in both parks that is disconnected, so you can pull an FP there even if you've just pulled another FP. Shows and meet n greets are also disconnected, but by next Saturday that should only apply to WoC. If you have hoppers, both parks are disconnected from each other. Return times are enforced. Some people have reported a small grace period others have reported strict enforcement. Also, there is no FP for Matternhorn. Relatively few rides have it, you might want to check the list on the DL site of FP and SR rides.

As the PP mentioned...no limit on how many you can have...just how often you can pull one.

Also the two parks are "disconnected" meaning you can pull a fastpss in DL then immediately walk over to CA adventure and pull another FP even though your 2 hour/return time window has not opened up yet to pull another FP in DL.

Remember that even though a LOT of show utilize a FP system, those do not count against your ability to pull FP for rides.

Thank you both! We are only doing DL, should have mentioned that. I did notice that it seemed to just be a few rides. It seems like so long ago since WDW had this fastpass system!

You also can't pull one if you already hold another FP in the same window. I'm not sure how much they can overlap. But if you get a Hyperspace Mountain FP at 8am for 12pm-1pm return time, if at 10am when your next FP is available the return time for Star Tours is also 12pm-1pm you wouldn't be able to pull it, you'd get a slip that says "Sorry, but you already hold a valid fastpass for that time." Also, if you tried to get a second FP for Hyperspace at 10am before your 12pm window opened for that attraction you'd also get a similar "sorry" slip. You can download the DL app to follow current return times.

Really? I have never heard this before, nor have I every had it happen to me. Not saying I don't believe you, just new to me.

Maybe that happens only if it's an exact match on the times? I held Fps for Tower of Terror (8:20-9:20 return) AND Goofy (8:15-9:15 return) with no problem.

I never really pull fast passes for BTMRR because the lines are never obnoxiously long in my opinion and the line is always manageable (unless you are there on a holiday)

Good to know. I was checking out the wait times on the app this past weekend and they didn't seem too bad for anything. But I know it's going to be really crowded with the marathon this weekend. I wish we could go on another date, but this just happened to work out perfect with one of DH's business trips. I just want to make sure I'm able to see as much as possible since who knows the next time we'll make it out to DL!

If you don't mind riding alone you could do single rider for Matterhorn.
I think for FP the top 3 I would go for are:
Hyperspace Mountain
Indiana Jones (the Stand-by line feels like forever. I always feel like it moves slowly)
Star Tours
BTMRR (I would say if the wait time is 40+ minutes try to get a FP)
Splash Mountain (it's not hot outside, so I can't imagine there being a huge line for it)

Thanks! We will probably do single rider on Matterhorn since we don't mind that. Didn't think about Indiana Jones, we'll definitely get FP for that as well. Is Star Tours the same as it is at WDW? I don't know why, but Star Tours gives me AWFUL motion sickness. Never had this problem on anything else, I can even do Mission Space: Orange with no problem, but Star Tours kills me. Which is a real shame because I love Star Wars.

You can't pull for the same ride, but you can pull another ride. Using your example, you can't get another Hyperspace mountain fastpass until the window opens, but you can pull any other ride starting at 10:00am.
