How do fast passes work with rider swap? We have a 3 &6 year old the 6 year old can go on most rides the 3 year old can't. We were at DW 3 years ago and I can't remember how we did it. Actually I know we didn't do fp with the child swap pass.... anyone know how it works???
I made the mistake of asking a CM at Buzzlightyear last week if the policy was the same as the prior year as far as being able to use them anytime after the window. He started telling me that they needed to be used during the printed time. I played a bit stupid as to his authority and said I would check with the CM who took the pass and just proceeded onto the ride. I felt a bit guilty the rest of my trip, not being sure if I was breaking the rules or not. Is it truly official policy, or do they just not care and thus look the other way?

Is there a limit to how many fp you can get at a time?
Thanks dangermouse, but that thread didn't tell me how many fastpasses we could have. I do see hydroguy's tips sticky above and there are about 4-5 threads about fastpasses, so I'm assuming one of them answers the question.
Yeah...that's why I said SOME CMs and SOME rides.
I don't claim to be an expert like hydroguy over there. I'm just repeating things I've read on the WDW section of this board.
Here's a really good explanation in the tips compilation: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1186052
Briefly, there's the return window time shown. Yep, might be 3 hours later, might be as little as 35 minutes later (if you get it right at opening) or 6-7 hours later (if you get it late afternoon). But, you can get another FP either when the window opens up, or 2 hours after you obtained that first one-- whichever comes first.
So if you grabbed Space FP right at 8 a.m. opening, it'll probably have a return time of 8:45. You're running around riding your favorite non-FP stuff (yay, PotC!) because the lines aren't bad yet. At 8:45 you can grab an Indy FP (don't have to use the Space one before getting another). It'll probably have a return time of, say, 9:45. At 9:45 you can grab one for Splash. By this time things are getting busier and maybe the return time on that one says "12:30". But there's another time down at the bottom that says, "Next FP available at: 11:45". Because that's 2 hours after you got it.
The point is, you spend the morning (mostly) riding stuff that doesn't take FPs, before it gets busy, while collecting all the FP you can for later. Later on, like maybe after your afternoon break, you get back to the park, the place is mobbed, and all the FP rides have 60-90 minutes waits. But you're holding 5 or 6 (or more, if you parkhopped to DCA) sets of FP to all those rides, so you waltz onto them one after another, with line waits of less than 10-15 minutes. Yippee!
That's kind of a rough outline. The tips threads make it really a lot clearer. I'm a very visual person, so I found the one with pictures the most helpful!![]()
Hope that helps!![]()
