Fastpass Question

OK, I'm embarrassed to have to ask......
I know the last time we were at the parks, you could get a fastpass..and could not get another one until that one was used or time expired. I read alot about people getting several fastpasses for later in the day. I understand now that you can use it AFTER the time listed. But can you get more than 1 fastpass at a time for different attractions? Or, are these people waiting until the 'expired time' then getting another fastpass for a different attraction and using all of them, say, late in the day?

The time you can get another fast pass will be printed on the fast pass itself. A general rule of thumb is that you can get another FP 5 minutes after your return time wintdow starts or in two hours whichever comes first. So if you got a FP for BTMR with a return time of 10:05 your next fast pass time could likely be 10:10. Prior to riding BTMR you could grab another FP and then return to BTMR to ride during your window. You would technically have two fast passes at once.

I would also advise caution on using expired fast passes. In my experience the CM's often do check the time and don't allow you to ride if your window has passed. It has happened to me personally and we saw it quite a bit during our early April trip. I am fully aware that others have had different experiences but I think my experience is worth a mention as well.

IMHO if you want to ride, esp a popular or newer attraction like Soarin or EE its best to just return during your window. Otherwise at least be prepared for the possibility of being turned away.

TJ-

Thanks for your reply. We've never used a fastpass after the expired time & didn't know you could until reading the Boards. Will take your advice to heart, though. Thanks!

Once you get the hang of FP, you'll figure out how to maximize your opportunities! As the previous poster said, you can get a new FP once the return time for your current FP has begun (example: if your current FP for BTMR has a return window of 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., you can go get a new FP at Splash Mountain 10:00 am -- then go use your BTMR FP). You have to do some planning (so you don't have to criss-cross the park too much), but it's definitely workable.

I know that others often try using expired FPs (and are sometimes successful), but that seems to defeat the purpose of FP. Only a certain number of FPs are available at any given time, so if everyone tried to use expired ones, the system wouldn't work!

I agree ZoZo! I had been thinking that if lots of people use expired FPs then that creates a long line in the FP Lane. I remember last trip telling the family to hurry over to a ride because we only had 5-10 minutes left on the FP ticket! :thumbsup2

We had no problems using an expired FP on Splash, EE, and RnRc. Each time we used it, we asked the Cm if that was okay and he/she said yes. The FP lines hardly had any people in them. I would guess if it gets busy then they might say no.

Not exactly. If everybody in a given window AND a whole slew of people with expired passes all showed up at the same time, it would defeat the purpose. And, if a rush on the FP line happens, that's when you're denied entry with your late one. Wait a bit for it to clear and try again.

Because of the rolling window at the ride itself, using expired ones don't damage the "system" much, if at all.
