If I get to the parks at opening, let's say AK, head right to Everest, grab a Fast Pass, any idea what time it will be for? I know this is a general question, but it might help in planning. I am curious if it's an hour away, or right away, or what. Thanks!

An hour or less.
Of course the Standby line goes VERY quickly in the early mornings.
We have ridden 2-3 times in the first 45 minutes, Standby.
We are among the very first to arrive at EE (right behind the CMs leading us there).

EE is a very fast-loading attraction.

I'm wondering the same thing, if I'm there at park opening, go straight to EE, if I get a FP, then get in the wait line, I should be able to ride twice in a fairly short period of time ? Does this make sence ? :confused3

That does make sense :D

Another alternative is to ride straight away in the standby line and get a FP when you come out - this gives you time to do Kilimanjaro Safari in the standby line, and see the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail and Maharajah Jungle Trek, before going back to EE for your second ride.

If you do this early in the morning you get to see the animals while they are still active as well as riding EE twice before 11am :)

Thanks, Scrap Vamp, that was the intention of my original question. I realize I could probably ride it in the standby line a few times at opening, but I wanted to be able to do other things after I rode it first, knowing I could ride it again if I wanted to. Also, I was only using EE as an example. In general, I wanted to know the "end time" of a FP that I got at opening.

If you get a fast pass in the morning it is good for the whole day as long as you use it after the start time. IF you get a fast pass that is from 10:05-11:05, you can use it any time after 10:05. We did that for soarin in January and used the fastpass when we returned to Epcot after our afternoon break back at the hotel.

This is "generally" true.

But in the case of BUSY parks and POPULAR attractions, it is not a "sure thing".

We do this "late to our FP window" many times on most FP attractions, but the EXCEPTIONS might be at Soarin' and EE (very popular with LONG wait times and FP's "running out").

I personally have sucessfully used late FP's at Soarin' (several times) but others have reported being denied FP entry if the passes had expired.

So if the ride is a HOT one, be advised that an expired FP MIGHT be admitted, but it might not.

I did not know this! I thought you were sort of "locked out" if you didn't return before the window ended. I understand it mihgt not work bur busy attractions, but that is good info. Thanks.

And in THIS case (in the morning, say before 11am) and you held a FP from EE that had expired within an hour or so, you should have no trouble using it.

Now, if it was around 2:30pm and the standby line was over an hour... you MIGHT get turned away.

AND you can't get a fastpass for another attraction until the first one you've gotten has expired. meaning you can't run to EE get a fastpass, and then run straight to the safari and expect to get another fastpass... plus if you haven't scanned your ticket, you can't get a fastpass. My ds5 didn't get his ticket scanned somehow and we couldn't get any fastpasses for him that day!

That's an easy fix (if you want to).
Go back to the front gate (or guest relations) and a CM can make it "valid" for you.
