Fastpass option during blackout period--so confused!

I was so happy to see comments on these boards a few weeks ago that GAD certificates could be redeemed for the fastpass option during the blackout dates. I have been trying to get verification from ANYONE at Disney (general info people, GAD people and tickets people) to decide whether we should shift some touring plans, but I keep being told the same thing, that during the blackout period the GAD passes can't be used for anything. Has anyone been able to get further confirmation on this?

It is on a separate Thread in this section....Last date was March 8th...sorry i don't know how to send you the link...go to page 2 and arrow down to the March 8th dates and it says somehting like GAD FP Voucher Update....and the answer is YES!! They can be used as Fastpasses during blackout dates. I am planning on using ours the week after Easter April 3-10....

Thanks I did see that thread that's what I was happy about. It is just unfortunately different than what I was being told and am still being told. I do hope it's right but I'm worried about a ticket window problem.

So, i am going with high expectations of using my GAD fastpass the week after Easter! ( Which is a blackout for using your GAD as an entrance to the park)
 
Thanks very much. I could tell Cheshire has great info but I wasn't sure where from, that does make me feel better! Maybe those who try to use GAD at the start of the blackout period will share their experience.
 
The worst people you can ask right now about things that involve these sort of things are the people who answer the phones. They don't work on the front line and do not know those details.

CF works the front lines.

He originally talked to two of the Guest Services Managers, and both of them initially responded that their interpretation of what was known AT THAT TIME was that the options would not be available.

Disney has since clarified the situation and provided information to the appropriate cast members that they WILL be available.

Now that doesn't mean EVERY front-line CM has read or understands that yet, especially since it refers to blackout period that hasn't happened yet, and if CF told us what booth he was working on any given day they would be crowd problems, which is why we've also been told to have them ask Miss Piggy.

I too have received conflicting information. I will be exchanging my voucher on the first day of the blackout so I was really hoping to have something in writing. I sent an email to disney and they responded that I would not be able to use the voucher at all on blackout dates. I wrote back asking if they could double check that information stating that I had heard different and even mentioned the "Miss Piggy" thing. I will let you know what I hear.:confused3: I hope they get it straight before next Monday.

:confused3 Did you contact the GAD program thru the "contact us" link or did you email someone else at Disney? :confused3 I used the "contact us" link on the GAD site and submitted this question 2 times and both times I received a reply from GAD support team members saying the vouchers CAN be used for fast passes or the pin figurine during the March/April block out dates. If you emailed someplace other than the GAD support team that may explain your different answer.
