FastPass needed in late Sept?

We are going to WDW late Sept 2003. Will we need to use FastPasses do you think or will the traffic be down so much that we will most likely walk on to most things or have short waits?

Thanks,
Tracy in Idaho

September is a slower month at Disney. On our last trip, we went in February and most of the fastpass machines were not open. If the fastpass machines are open, grab one.

We were there the last week in September 2002 and we used fastpass VERY rarely. If we happened to be walking by an attraction we knew we wanted to visit later and the fastpass machine was open, we would grab one. But, a few times when we went to use the fastpasses, there wasn't any line at all anyway.

I think the longest we waited for anything was about 20 minutes for the Haunted Mansion...the fastpass machines weren't open, and I think we just happened by at an unusually busy time. But, as SCOTTNJ said, if the machines are open, you might as well grab one...it can't make your wait any longer!

We really enjoyed the crowd levels in September. The only thing I can warn you of is to be prepared for the heat and humidity. Here in Michigan, by late September it's definately heading into cooler fall-like weather...not so in Florida!

We were also there late last September. The lines were rediculously low. We used two fast-passes; one for Test Track (cut a half hour line to ten minutes), and Big Thunder. The latter cut a five minute wait to a two minute wait. Wednesday in the MK this week, we walked on Splash Mountain three times, and I mean walked on. Other waits: ten minutes for HM, five minutes for Pooh, and five minutes for Pirates of C.

I agree that when you see a fast pass, grab it, but if you're going in late September, lines aren't something you should afford a lot of concern.

Always an exception: MK on Saturday. If you can avoid this, do it. When you spend a day or two getting used to walk ons, suddenly having half hour waits throw you for a loop. On the other hand, this will probably be the only day for Spectro and FITS. We spent the day in Epcot, then headed over around five, toured a little, and found our "spot" around 7 pm, where we had dinner and spent the rest of the night.
