I haven't been to the parks since just before Maxpass was an option. I think I understand the concept but I need a little clarification. I will be traveling with 5 teenagers ages 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17(prayers are welcome). Would it be best if we all had our own app and tracked our own Maxpasses? Are the passes linked to our park tickets? Do you still have to have activated your ticket at one of the parks to collect the passes?

Can we use both traditional fastpasses and Maxpasses?

Can you select Maxpasses for the other park if you are planning to hop?

It's weird to not be "in the know". Are there any other big changes from approximately one year ago to consider?

Thanks!

Most do one app to control the passes because you want to be booked at the same time. Then when you go through you can scan the app 6 times or give everyone their ticket to scan at the two checkpoints.

Yes, you have to have entered the park before being able to buy maxpass and get a fast pass

I'd buy the tickets through last minute travel club.

yes, you can select a mp for either park. But you still have to wait the 90 minutes before collecting a 2nd maxpass. So, you can NOT get one at 10 am good at 2 pm for big thunder and get one at 10 am for soarin' at 3 pm. I'm sorry I probably confused you with that example.

You still need to get a paper fast pass for the shows. Which is ridiculous, imo.

You can all have the app to track your Fastpasses if you want to, if you’ll likely be splitting up. The Maxpass is linked to your park ticket once purchased. You have to have entered either Disneyland or California Adventure that day to be able to get Fastpass through Maxpass.

Yes, you can use either Maxpass or Fastpass. If you have not purchased Maxpass, Fastpass is still available (but just know that now no matter what you need either your park ticket or phone to use Fastpass). If you have purchased Maxpass, you can still always go to a Fastpass kiosk to get a Fastpass if you need to (maybe you want a Fastpass souvenir, the WiFi is dead, your phone isn’t working, etc. But the regular Fastpass rules would apply, like waiting 2 hours instead of 90 minutes to get a new Fastpass if the return time is more than the 90 minutes or 2 hours later)

You can get Fastpass for both parks as long as you have entered at least one of them.
