I am curious to find out how everyone feels about the FastPass program. While a great concept, I wonder if some of the lines have a long wait BECAUSE of the FP returns. They give out so many tickets in a window, when the people return, it can cause a major back up. And for the CM's to be fair, they will sometimes stop the FP line to let the stand-byt line on the ride. Once, my DH told me he was in the FP line at StarWars for 25 minutes. The ride that most makes me wonder about the wait if there were no FP is Buzz Lightyear. It seems that this ride ALWAYS has a huge group of FP returns, holding up the stand-by line, and the FP line gets backed up also. So, what is your opinion? Love FP or hate it?

I love it because most people don't know how to work the system (some even think that FastPass requires extra $$ to obtain).

I love fast pass.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

It's possible to have more than one FP at a time.

By taking advantage of FP and early entry, you can avoid wasting time waiting in line. :moped:

I haven't used them yet. Never been to WDW (first trip in 60+ days!!!) and last trip to DL was first time they had them for one of my trips. We didn't use them because the lines were never too bad in September. Also, we had my DD along who wasn't yet 2 so we couldn't go on most of the rides offering FP.

That said, I will definitely use them if I'd have to wait in line more 25-30 minutes. We'll see how it goes on the WDW in September and the DL trip planned for May 2005.

I like FastPass, and use it on some, but not all, of the rides that offer it. But the FastPass line CAN be backed up because of equipment failure of bad weather (depending on the attraction), it isn't just that too many fast passes were issued.

Two of the best ways to avoid standing in line all day is FastPass and Baby Swap.

Oblivously you need a small child or other disabled person to do rider swap, BUT if you meet the criteria, It's Great!

Let's keep this a secret from all non DIS'ers:D

I like fastpass, but I don't use it too much. On both of my trips last year, I only used it once on Tower of Terror. I still tend to do all the attractions with long lines in the morning when the lines are short.

We love FP. There are times when you can hold more than one FP.

Once on our return trip while at the Orlando Airport we listened to a know it all dad lecturing his wife that he had given Disney enough of his money and there was no way he was adding to that money by using FP.

Love them.

We usually go during the slow season. With fast pass and early morning entry we hardly wait in line anymore.

I love FP. Anyone who thinks you have to pay for it has probably been to a six flags park recently . They call it Q-bot and you have to pay for it. I hate it. As a season pass holder, it really ticks me off that it isnt free to everyone like FP. Last year when I called six flags to complain I told the lady.... "if Disney makes it free to everyone so should you". I bet they hate being compared to Disney!!!!!

Anyhoo.... what cracked me up on our last trip was the people in the standby line complaining when we walked up and got on before them on The Land boat ride. Not my fault they chose to wait on stand by....while we got our FP , ate at the food court until our FP time came up and then pretty much walked right on. Why wouldnt you use it??? Its free!!!!

a question: i have read different things about fastpass. (we are going in aug-1st time using FP)... in the beginning i think you could only hold 1 every 2 hrs. or something like that. how many can you have now? i don't think u can hold 2 at one time, right? i think u have to wait till time is up on FP to obtain another?
help!

bubba's mom,

you can actually hold two fast passes at the same time if you do it right! You can get your second pass about 10 minutes after the return time of your current pass. You don't have to wait until the end of your return time to get your next pass. Even if you haven't returned for your ride yet, there's no way that the ticket kiosk can tell if you've used it or not. We've held 2 passes at once quite a few times!

Tracy

thanks....i was unclear how it currently worked. we plan to take advantage of the FP system.....
