Fastpass frustration

I finally was able to get tickets and start the fastpass process, BUT when i logged in to see what was available I was shocked to see that most of them are all gone...... we are arriving Nov 3rd. I know I'm a bit late, but I have no idea which park I'm going to go to on any particular day or what is going on. This is very frustrating to try and have a good time when no fast passes are even available for most dates, or super late at night. I liked the old system when you get them that day when you had an idea what park you were going to go to that day. Are we going to be stuck in lines all day long..... ? This is awful.......

I understand your frustration. If you can, I recommend you keep trying for some of your favorites, openings can occur at any time. It is not ideal, but is your best option at this point.

the lines should not be that long then I would try for any FP you can get even if it is not your top ride for the park and then keep checking back for others to open and then try and do your top ride that you think will have the longest line first then if you do not watch the night time show they should be short.

If they FP are all gone the lines will be bad but I noticed on the last update to the MDE app that they now define what is short, moderate and long waits and there are only one or two things per park they deem to be long waits so you should have no problem. Of course if you don't agree that 30 min is a short wait that could be a problem.

Just remember that at least you're at Disney and not work and that its up to you to make your own magic while there.

You should just book what you can now because you'll appreciate whatever you can get once you're there.

For us, anything with a wait over 20 minutes might as well be closed.

I'm going November 2nd and have not had any difficulty finding fast passes for the major rides. A few days ago I swapped some times around after getting an ADR and had lots of choices. How many people are you searching for at once? Have you tried reducing the amount of people you are searching for and trying to overlap times? My husband and I searched individually for ourselves because we have different ride preferences. However, there were a few rides we both wanted, so we just arranged times that partially overlap. I bet if you search as singles you will be able to make it work.

What FP are you trying for? I've been "practicing" for when my window opens up and I see lots of options. Mine Train and A&E are gone, of course, but you can RD or go close to park close and hit those.

I really do appreciate the frustration spoken of in this thread. I know for a fact that I won't be getting 2 of the FP+ selections I was hoping for when my 60 day comes up at Midnight of the 5th.

However, my expectations weren't really that high for 2 reasons...........(1) I've done a enough reading on FP's and ADR's to know what's tough and what isn't. If you aren't prepared to go with your ADR's at day 180 and FP's on day 60, in todays world, you're going to have issues with the most popular rides and dining experiences. The thing is this isn't new....... it's been going on for well more than a year...........(2) We're not going to let a line or missing a ride impact our vacation. Now that works for me and my wife, we visit once a year. For those who frequent less often I completely understand............it does suck ...........but it is what it is. You can let it ruin your vacation or you can find a way to work around it.

There are ways to ride the 7DMT without waiting an hour (to me 20 minutes isn't that long a wait at WDW) it just requires some planning........... If you're not into planning and you just want to be completely spontaneous.............you could have some trouble getting on the really popular rides and getting that ADR at CRT. Since the OP has been a member of this board since 2006 I would imagine they're aware of all this.

Again I understand the frustration...............but there are ways (a few given by others in this thread) to maybe get those FP's you desire. My comment would be "Don't let it ruin your vacation"

I can completely understand where you are coming from. I'm staying off site for our early Nov trip, so my window just opened up. 7dmt has been booked solid. Peter Pan is also gone. Those were my top two. I did get three other FP, but I'm checking multiple times a day to see if anything better has opened up. From what I can tell from the Dibb site, the other parks aren't as bad, but MK is tough. Lots of good FP options, but also lots of people to snatch them up.

Without knowing how big your party is - for the heck of it I looked to see what FP+ were gone for Nov 3 for a party of 4. For MK: PP is down from Nov 2 - 7 so there wouldn't be anything for that, and I see that A&E, 7DMT, the parades and Wishes are gone. Also Mad Tea Party is gone too. The other 20 or so FP+ in MK are still available and everything in the other 3 parks is available. So really there's 6 things unavailable in all of WDW for Nov 3 - at least for a party of 4 or more. What is in your favor is that Nov 3 is a Tuesday, so I wouldn't be expecting excessive crowds at MK and the lines should be manageable.

Unfortunately, the days of just winging it at WDW without a plan are gone - unless you aren't bothered by lines. I have a feeling that the days of spur of the moment trips to WDW are also on the wane. All is not lost, folks change plans so ADRs and FP+ show up now and then. Check in the early mornings and at night - I find these are the times that folks who work are home logging in and if they are changing their plans will drop an ADR or FP+.

What do you mean, "most of them are all gone"? What are you trying to get that you can't. Probably not A&E or 7DMT, but otherwise there shouldn't be much that you can't get.

Are you sure you're using the system fully? Some people see the first "suggested" selections and think that's all there is. Have you tried going in and playing with times, changing selections, etc.?
