Just wondering if people have been able to get their fast passes for this attraction? My friend is going at the end of September and said they signed on the day they were able to do fast passes, but they weren't able to get any for that attraction. That really surprised me! Has anyone else had that issue? We are going at the end of January so hopefully it'll be less of an issue then.

If you have a short stay (2-3 nights), it can be very difficult.
For longer stays, you have a better chance later in your stay.

Hmm....we are there for a week, but only planning AK for one day. We do have a day we haven't decided on a park yet, so I guess that would give us 2 days. I think we're going to opt for the park hopper, so that could be useful for this purpose. I really hope it's calmed down by January. I just saw some rope drop pictures for Pandora...and nope. Cannot do that!!! I think I'd hurt people LOL.

I think you're going to have to wait for Star Wars land for it to calm down. 7DMT has been open for 3 yrs and it still has long lines, limited to no FP availability at 30 days, and crazy rope drop crowds

the pattern seems to be that if you have AK planned in the first 3 days of your trip, there's a good chance you won't be able to get a FoP FP. Better luck if you're doing AK on day 4 or later.

Thanks. We have day 4 planned in AK and day 7 as open right now, so hopefully we'll be able to get one.

I am going at the end of Sept for 9 days. I tried at 7am when my 60 day window opened for day 2. Fop was gone. Then switched to looking at the back half. Got a morning FoP on day 7 and day 9. Made day 2 a AK day with NRJ, Everest, Safari and switched days for Cape May and Tiffins ADRs. With the tier system for the Avatar rides you need 2 days or have to try to rope drop NRJ with a FoP fast pass.

I didn't have any trouble. But I'm pretty flexible with times, and was looking for pretty much anything in the afternoon or evening. I was able to get 2 for day two of our trip and 2 for day 7 or 8 of our trip. Both late afternoons. My trip begins Labor Day weekend, so day 2 of our trip is the Sunday of that holiday weekend. I anticipated having problems from reading other threads on the boards, especially with it being a holiday weekend, but had several different times to choose from for that day (all afternoon/evening times).

Okay, I know people have been asking, so sorry if this has been answered a million times! I'm not super excited about Pandora and I don't care if I miss it. That being said, my usual plan for Disney is to do rope drop at AK, hit Everest Dinosaur & the Safari, and leave. Should I bother trying to do FOP first thing instead of Safari, or should I just do my usual because the crowds will be crazy?

Like others have reported, I managed to get a FoP fastpass for one of the later days of my trip, and there were a decent selection of times for that day. If it's a priority, I would suggest starting with it and looking day 4 or later.

I am going to AK on day 6 of my reservation and the earliest FP+ at the time was 3:45pm. I'm going again on day 8 and was able to get 9:05am.

This was the first FP I went first thing at my 60 day mark and I managed to find one time open. It was not on a planned AK day and it was later in the afternoon, but I changed my plans around it. I have been able to tweak it a tiny bit since then (I moved it up to about an hour earlier). Like everyone says, keep trying and trying and hopefully something will pop up - maybe not when you want it to but it will pop up! :) Good luck.

When my 60-day window opened for a September trip, I was able to make a FoP FP+ selection for late afternoon of Day 5. I tried for Day 1, but none were available so I booked NRJ. The next week, however, I lucked out and found a FoP slot for late morning of Day 1.

I've been checking FP+ availability almost every day since then (trying to find an earlier time for my Day 5 FoP), but have not seen any open times at all in over a month. So while it's possible to snag a FoP slot after the FP+ window opens (as I did with my Day 1), it seems to be very rare.

FOP is really fun. It might be the best ride at Disney and I've never even watched Avatar. The other new ride is a waste of time. Well the waiting in line part is because the ride is so short.

We just got back yesterday from a short 4 night 5 day trip, we didn't plan on going until about mid June or early July. There were, of course, no FPs available but since the only reason we were going was so my son could go to Pandora we knew we were going to stand in line. We got to AK around 8 am or a little later Sunday morning, got to the line to tap the tap style and only waited there about 10 min (just enough time for my son to run get us both a cup of coffee) proceeded to the Pandora area, didn't run but walked a little faster than my normal sedate pace. Waited there for them to open the line which seemed to be around 8:45. They went ahead and let everyone line up at FOP. We were done with the ride by around 9:15. We rode it again that night, the wait time was posted around 118 min, I'd say it was actually around 100 min. We did do the entire line that time, in the morning we didn't see any of the line. The wait wasn't horrible for us as we read books on our phones. We did get a FP for Navi River the afternoon before. My son loved the ride and declared it the best ride at WDW running a close neck to neck with ToT (which still is my favorite ride). I thought it was o.k. but wouldn't ride it again on a solo trip. I had a few issues the first time with the sitting leaning on the front, it hit me in just the right spot on my sternum to cause my reflux to not be happy so I was a tad nauseous when we got off. Not throw up sick but a little flushed. The second time I did lean back a tad while the ride was setting the restraints so I wasn't totally pressed against it but the glasses didn't fit my tiny head at all so I had to hold on to them at all times. I've never seen the movie but my son did explain a lot to me while we were standing in line. I actually kind of enjoyed Navi River there is some great tech. going on in it.

Sunday morning after we got off FOP, we rode Safari without a FP and there was only about a 15 min. wait and that was only because a truck broke down. Then we walked both trails and then rode EE. The wait for that was around 30 min. so not so bad. We grabbed some lunch, then rode Navi with our FP and left AK around 2:30 or 3. We rode everything we were interested in riding since my son has a pinched nerve in this spinal cord and Dinosaur is out for him.

At 60 days I got mine for day 69.

Up to day 64, there was no availability at all and very limited availability for the couple of days after that. Day 67 onwards is much better.

Thanks to Pandora, Safari usually has a short wait now? It used to be the longest wait in the park.

Yeah, I only have 3 park days so I'm not keeping my hopes up. My FP day is tomorrow, I'll give it a whirl but I think we'll end up rope dropping it, then heading over to Everest and Dinosaur, and save FPs to hop to Epcot or something after that. I've heard of a few people having success modifying their FPs closer to their trip (or even during their trip), so just keep going back and checking.

I totally agree! FOP was awesome! We were there the week of 4th of July and got late morning fastpasses on Thursday of our week, which was perfect - just after our safari! I was a little nauseous after the ride, but my husband and kids were perfectly fine! (Maybe what I ate for breakfast?) We came back later at night and waited in line for Navi River. The time said like 110 minutes, but we waited about 40 minutes. The line can be hot in spots. People were getting sick in line, and no one came to clean it up or anything. I am glad we didn't wait 110 minutes -- the ride was pretty, but extremely short, and stopped 3 times while we were on it, and we ended up bumping into the 4 or 5 boats in front of us for the whole last minute of the ride (with others bumping into us). My 13 and 7 year old said it was pretty, but a little boring. To be totally honest, I was a little disappointed in Pandora at night as a whole. The imagineers were saying everything will be lit up and every little leaf will glow, which is how it looks in the movie, but didn't appear so in person. And, you could see a lot of the lights/bulbs that were used to help things glow. Disney usually does an amazing job of hiding details like that - maybe when the trees/bushes/flowers mature you won't notice them? Still beautiful, but overhyped if I'm being honest.
