When you are using a fastpass, on average, how long is your wait in line?

Can you use the child swap with a fastpass? My DDs are 4 and I don't know if they will go for the child swap, but if the wait is only 10 minutes or so, they may not mind -- if it's only once or twice.

With the child swap, does the whole family wait in line, one person rides while the rest stand there in front and when they get off, the other person rides?

Most rides will give you a child swap Fastpass for the second parent who is watching the child/children who cannot ride to use when the first parent is done riding. It's used just like a Fastpass so that parent doesn't need to get a Fastpass to ride.

The first parent/group can ride however they want.

You take turns. You do not all have to go in the line together.

If you want to do child swap, approach the CM on duty at the entrance and show them the child and they will explain child swap and give you the child swap (Rider Switch) pass which is good for up to 3 guests total. So the second parent doesn't have to ride alone.

I'm so glad for this thread! I wasn't sure how this worked. We've never used it before, but now that my daughter is tall enough to ride some of the bigger rides, I wasn't sure if both my hubbie and I could take turns taking her on them while the other waited with my 3-year-old. This makes my planning SO much easier! Thanks!

If the line is long for the attraction you want to ride, it is a good idea to get a fastpass. The first rider can use the fastpass, then the second rider uses the child swap pass and goes through the fastpass line, also. If you don't have a fastpass, the first rider will have to wait in the standby line. Also, if you have one child who can ride the attraction and one who can't, the child who is able to ride can ride twice--once with each parent!

Does child swap work for a 5yo? There is no way she is riding certain rides, that I want to ride with my older DD....

Yes, any kid that is young enough that you wouldn't leave them alone to wait for you. For me I think that would be 18! They really don't question you. If your three year old wanted to ride and your 5 year old was too chicken they would give you a child swap pass so your 3 year old can ride with mom and then dad.

Guess it will depend on the CM working the ride.

My DD who is a chicken but tall enough to ride was measured at Splash, Thunder and ToT and because she was tall enough to ride, they would not give us a Child Swap/Rider Switch pass (which you can use in the Fastpass line) but did say we could swap at the ride itself so we all had to enter the line together.
