Is the Fastpass at DL the same as at WDW? ie you can get another fastpass once the start time on your first one comes up?

I ask because I have read in various places that you can get more than one fastpass at DL? Is this true?

We are visiting in August so want to make the most of our time, any help would be great. :thumbsup2

It works the same as at WDW, there are a couple exceptions, at least there were as of last fall. Grizzly River Run in DCA, is not connected to the FP system so you can get a GRR at the same time as you grab another FP for something else, say Soarin'. The same is true for Roger Rabbit in Toontown at Disneyland. Also if I remeber correctly the DCA Fast Passes and Disneyland Fast Passes are not connected so you can grab a set at one park and hop over to the other park and immediately grab another set for something there.

Another tip- you can use your fp anytime after the return time. Say return is 1:10-2:10. You can use it from 1:10 until closing that day. They do not enforce the end return window.

Great links Hydroguy - I've printed them out ready for my itinerary. :thumbsup2

& read Hydroguy's threads with the DL & CA maps in front of you. Staying at the GCH allows you to pick up FPs so easily in Cal. Adv. (We walked thru the GCH each day). Remember that Griz is NOT linked to the other CA rides.

By having 3-5 FPs in your pocket (for either park) when you go back to the LUXURIOUS GCH for your afternoon swim break, takes alot of pressure off for the evening. There is nothing finer than a 5 minute wait for SM or Indy (with FPs) at 7pm when the standby sign says 75 minutes.

(Remember, you can use FPs you pick up at 9am ALL DAY....not by the "use by" time.)

Have Fun. :hippie:

Hound - yes I've got the Birnbaum's Guide which has the maps in, and I am gradually getting my bearings! :)

I think all you guys here on the DL forum are fantastic taking the time to let us all know how to make the most of our days in the parks. It will certainly make a difference to our trip as first timers.

We are really looking forward to staying at the GCH, for the sheer convenience of being so near to the parks. DD will be in a sleeping bag on the floor, but I'm sure she will be so tired at the end of the day she will sleep no problem. We thought it was worth it to get so near to the parks.

We will be relaxing by the pool every afternoon that's for sure, with our fastpasses for the evening safely stashed away! :cool2:

FWIW, it is clearly discussed in a sticky thread at the top of the MiceChat DLR forum here:

The Joy of FASTPASS - details and secrets
www.micechat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5720

MiceChat is the most popular DLR forum out there if you look at number of posts per day. But it does cater to SoCal locals.

Even with that sticky thread, you are correct most people do not know about this secret or any of the other FP secrets at DLR.
