Hi

Can someone please explain the FastPass system. Is this the system a friend was telling me about where you choose a ride and get a ticket to go on it later, then once you have been on it you can choose another ride and get a ticket?

If so then she had 3-day Hopper tickets which allowed her to do this; but I am not sure how it works with Annual passes.

The Dream ticket says it includes 5 Fastpass tickets - does this mean you can only do this 5 times in your year? and the Fantasy ticket does not appear to have any so does that mean if you have a Fantasy ticket you can't use the Fastpass system at all?

or am I getting totally confused about two different things?

With the dream pass you get 5 fast passes per annual ticket that can be used on any ride that has a fast pass facility. These are (or should be) date stamped for one month from issue.

With any park ticket you can use the fast pass machine to obtain a fast pass for a ride with a fast pass that will give you a time slot you can use the fast pass access. With each park ticket you can only get one fast pass per ride at any time, but you can have fast passes to more than one ride at any one time (eg you can go to Discoveryland get fast passes for Buzz, Space Mountain and Star Tours one after the other and then return at the times printed on the tickets to ride them with a shorter wait). The fast passes can save quite a time queueing, but you do need one per person - I am not sure about under 3s for Star Tours. The CMs are strict on only allowing people through at the times on the tickets, but the ones with the annual pass are valid from 11am to two hours before closing (when the park normally gets quieter anyway).

In addition you just put your annual passport in the FP machine as with a hopper passport to get a fast pass ticket.

You can hold different FP's for a number of different rides at the same time :)

So if you can hold a number of FPs for different rides why would you need the 5 fastpass tickets that come with the Dream ticket - what are they? sorry, but I am still confused :confused3 (obviously being thick!)

They are a perk of the Dream passport. You can use them at any time on any attraction. But the 5 are soon used up

When you put your annual pass/hopper ticket in the fastpass machine at say Buzz Lightyear at 1pm your fastpass ticket may give you a return time of say 7.30-8.00pm ~ hours away! :scared1: You could then use one of your five complimentary fastpass tickets to ride it there and then, and come back to use the later fastpass at the allotted time. :)

Aha! The penny drops...

Do you know when you insert your pass what time slot you are going to get? or do you only know when the ticket comes out?

Above the fastpass machine the display tells you what time window is being given out.
