Fastpass and Halloween Party

Forgive me if this has been asked and answered but have searched the forum and can't find and answer. I know that there are no fastpasses during the party, but what about the few hours before the party starts where there are general admission and party-goers? Will our party tickets work for a fastpass in those hours?

Most of the time the fast pass machines are off by the time the party people come in because the times they'd be handing out would be during the party, which would be useless

There's no need to search the whole forum, by the way. You can always just go directly to the thread that is devoted to all things Halloween Time and Mickey's Halloween Party -- which is the Halloween Time at DLR Superthread. There's a lot of info about MHP there (including the 3 hours leading up to the start of the party), and usually someone there can answer a question.

Just for reference about the lines at the actual party (even though I know your question was about FP before the MHP) -- the lines for many rides are on the short side at the party, and some are even walk-ons. That's one of the benefits of the party. Things like Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy and Haunted Mansion Holiday are always going to have longer lines than some other rides because they are seasonal and very popular.

It is true that you do get a wristband. That is how the cast members can tell you are permitted to stay in the park after it closes to guests not attending Mickey's Halloween Party.

But you do actually also get paper tickets printed out for you. They have "1-Day Special Event" and "Mickey's Halloween Party" and the date and times printed on the back. They also have a barcode printed on them that can be used in the Fastpass machines during the few hours prior to the actual party.

We went a few years ago and did get a hard ticket to get in...oops.
I think it is likely that most will not be working during the pre party hours due to their return tones being after the party starts.

Start your tour of the rides around 8 PM, they lines are super short and most of them are just walk on. We did all the Major rides last Oct during the Party, and the only some with a line was the Haunted Mansion, and it was not really a long wait maybe 15 minutes. Every one was just walk in and on.
