Greetings!
Please pardon my "newbie-ness" but I have a question that I hope one of you may be able to help with.
We are DVC members and we will be staying on property, using points, this August. We will be going with my father who has 4 Silver passes to the parks.

Will we be able to use Fastpass+ on My Disney Experience to set up our Fastpasses in advance since we will be staying on property, or is the Fastpass+ tied to the park admission (which I think would make us ineligible to book in advance on MDE)?
I will be grateful for any advice on this!

To make FP+ selections in advance (beginning at 60 days from check-in), you need to have park admission linked to MDE.

Another question on same vain. Does the ticket you use to link to MDE have to be the one you use at the park. I.e. Could this person purchase non expiring tickets, set up FPP, and then use freebies to get in keeping the bought tickets for future use.

The ticket you link to the magic band will be used to enter the park. So if you have a 10 day No Exp linked to the band you would use one day when you entered the park. Once you have the band you no longer use a paper ticket.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack your thread...but I have a question about DVC and fast pass. We bought the Annual pass with the DVC discount and I linked them to MDE. Right now I can only book 30 days ahead, but since we are staying onsite would that change automatically to 60 days or do I have to call someone? My 60 days is tomorrow.... Thank you :)

I just ran into this scenario myself. MDE should automatically change tomorrow and allow you to make FP+ selections at the 60-day mark.

Did you link your reservation to MDE? My experience with DVC reservations is that I have to enter the reservation number myself, otherwise MDE was not aware I was staying on site. Provided your reservation appears when you log in to MDE, you should be able to book FP+ starting 60 days out.

Thank you for the replies. I did link my reservation to MDE - I did had to enter it manually, but when I log in it does show up. Hope this works and I will be able to book my fast passes :)

As long as your room reservation and park admission are linked to MDE, you will be able to start making FP+ selections beginning at 60 days from check-in.

To the OP, you might be able to link the non-expiring tickets to your MDE to make your FP+ tickets, and then not use your magic band to get into the park = scan the free tickets when you get to the turnstyles. Unless something has changed since December, your ticket isn't deducted from your magic band unless you swipe it - so in theory, you could use the free tickets for admission and then use the FP+ reservations on your magic band once you enter the park.

This worked for my sister in December - she used her AP for admission and then used my magic band for her FP+ reservations. My AP was linked to my magic band, so she could not have used it for admission as my finger print is attached to it. I made the FP+ reservations for her, as she wasn't staying on site, so she wasn't eligible during her trip for FP+.

No problem. I was wondering the same thing! :)

This is a very special situation, and it is unlikely many (if any) have already encounter this issue. As such, you have now been dubbed the guinea pig and will become our resident expert! :worship:

I recommend you contact Member Services to determine how it works with the Silver Pass. There may be rules attached that indicate if it is possible at all to use FastPass + with the Silver Pass, since it is an employee benefit and they are still working out the kinks for the regular guests. There may be a thread on the Theme Park board.

Good luck and please post the answer you find back on this thread, so other who do a search can use your insight.
