Fastpass 2.0

Hey jar,

Believe what you want but you don't have to attack me. The reason I previously registered to "fool my wife" was I was considering a surprise side family trip to the Bahamas on a WDW vacation and I wanted to do a bit of research without her knowing since she knows my primary log-in. Also my primary log in that I've had for years contains my first name which I prefer to remain anonymous in this case for obvious reasons. The survey I took was not in Florida and it was done by a professional research company. They were testing the website interface where you could actually buy a base ticket as well as add-ons such as hopper, water parks and more or this new deluxe (I don't recall the exact name) package. They told me that these new options are set in stone I was just to evaluate how easy it was to use the site. Could they have told me this so I wouldn't ask about it? Possibly, all I'm telling you was this was my experience. Believe me, I have way better things to do than make up (really sucky) rumors. I don't want to be too specific because apparently I was one of several respondents who came in over a 2 day period and I figure the more vague I am the less likely they are to attribute this post to me.

I actually can back you up on this - I was pulled in on this survey but it was WAY back months ago before they even put the 2.0 on it. Unlike most I see some really good points to it and I do see where some improvements need to be made. So no, he isn't full of crap. A research firm did pay money for people to come and give opinions about it, we did just that.

****IF**** it is true...

DISNEY IF YOU READ THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't stand paying for something that is free. FP is an awesome idea LEAVE IT ALONE PLEASE!! I just bought into DVC please don't make me regret it.

That is one aspect of this argument-but it may stay free and still be implemented. For example 3 pre scheduled FP's per day free. I would think as a DVC member you would likely be a planner as well as an eventual expert on what attractions you would give FP priority to. The other thing is they may leave the current system as well-meaning many of us will not use it because we have ours scheduled, taking a lot of folks out of the FP que lines. Cant say any of this will happen, or even work for sure-but I like the discussion.

All I can say for sure is (especially for free) I would like to arrive at WDW with 36 FP's (12 of us) per day ready to go (esp the 100 min wait rides) and not have to get up late (we stay out late) and miss all the good FP's.

I already have nightmares about making my ADRs, fast pass reservations is the straw that will break my Disney Magic.

If Disney does this with Fast Pass I will say to them "Good bye Contemporary Resort and Hello Daytona Beach."

I like how you put it into perspective:thumbsup2 You make a good point 3 FP per day for each family member. The rumor is 3 per person per day right? Or just three for the whole trip per person?

Well I assumed it was per day, not per trip mostly because trips can be from 1 to 14 or more days. But I cant say for sure now that you mention it. Plus I suppose you could do 14 "1 day" trips to get around it. Have to wait and see I guess.

Why would it matter? They may keep the current system running as well, so it would be transparent to you if you choose not to participate. You never know though, if you can go online and check discussion boards, you will likely click on a link and make a few FP selections for your next upcoming trip (even if its the night before). If that's too difficult (or nightmarish), simply ignore it. At the parks you would have no way of knowing if folks walking into a FP return line got theirs at the park earlier that day-or a month ahead and had a stress free relaxing morning.

Plus, you dont have to use them. If you decide to skip the 36 TSM FP's (12 in your party times 3) you selected for Tuesday afternoon between 1PM and 2Pm for example, the standby line will just move along that much faster. You can then go to MK or whatever you feel like. Myself, I would go burn off the 36 rides of TSM and then head to MK, but at least I would have that choice.

Who cares? The standby line will move that much faster. The only one impacted negatively would be the guests that didn't show up.

The people who would have gotten an could have used Fastpasses at the park but no longer can because they were taken up by people remotely would also be negatively impacted.

Disney testing new fastpass system at Animal Kingdom. Passes distributed from central location not at individual rides.

Have there been any reports posted anywhere about if or how this is actually working?
