Fastest way to go for the 2nd rope drop of the day

The last couple times I’ve done to Disneyland I’ve done what I call the “2nd rope drop” of the day, the two lines that form on the backside of Fantasyland by King Arthur’s Carrousel to enter Fantasyland after the fireworks.

For those that don’t know, one line is for Fantasyland as a whole and the other line is exclusively for Peter Pan. The Peter Pan line is walked in first and I’ve gotten some great pictures in a basically empty Fantasyland (see attached).

My question is this: I want to do this again but it will be after I’ve watch the fireworks myself from in front of the castle.
I’m wondering what is the easiest/best/fastest way to get from the hub to this rope drop….
I ‘think’ but can’t remember for sure last time I went through Frontierland and around the backside of Big Thunder…is there a better way to go?

If you are going on a night when Fantasmic will be shown, I wouldn't go in that direction.

Ahhhhh, yes that must have been a night when it wasn’t which is why I went that way

What’s the next best way? All the way around Matterhorn?

Hmmmm….was really hoping for the experts to chime in here to swear they know the fastest way!

I've never done that before. I've gone into a relatively empty Fantasyland after fireworks, but never lined up for the rope drop.

I guess I don't really understand where Fantasyland is closed and where it is open. Are you able to access Fantasyland by the teacups? Are the entrances on the side of the castle open? If the only entrance is in the area behind Thunder Mountain, then that is where you will need to line up.

If you are trying to get from the front of the castle to the area behind Thunder Mountain, I would watch fireworks from the Royal Theater side of the castle. There is a cut through from behind the Royal Theater to Rancho del Zocalo (near RdZ restrooms and BBB carriage photo op). I'm not sure if that is open or closed during fireworks. If it is open, I would take that path and then stick to your right to wrap around Big Thunder. Note that there will be a lot of people leaving SWGE after fireworks, so you will want to stay to the far right and swim up stream.

I believe the close off points are what I have in lime green. Through the castle plus two ropes on either side of the carrousel.

I think you’re suggesting the pink route?
I drew it to the X that is the Peter Pan line. Another line forms on the other side that’s for the rest of Fantasyland

I guess the question is whether or not I can get through that Royal theatre passage?
