Ok we will be hopping off the Disney Dream and hopping into a rental car to get to Port Orleans. We want to be into HS ASAP.

It will be too early to get into our room at the resort.. but we have to stop there to get our tickets.

Woud you...

Take the rental car from POR drive and park at HS
Wait for shuttle

Also Luggage? Haul in and leave at desk? (Is that even an option?) or leave in rental car for the day??

If you truly want the fastest option, I'd just check in at POR, get the tickets, and get back in the car and drive to DHS. Leave the luggage in the car at DHS.

Waiting for the bus still involves going to POR to get your tickets, and then the added wait for a bus, which will likely make multiple stops en route.

Since your room probably won't even be ready when you check in, it's kind of an extra chore to bring luggage to the desk for storage before going to the park, unless you have something valuable in it you wish to protect. When you get back from DHS, your room will be ready and you can just park close to wherever the room ends up being and carry the luggage straight in to the room. No need to stop by the front desk then.

I would Check in at POR..and have Bell Services hold your luggage until you return and then drive over to HS. I find the parking there is pretty good and quick to get into HS.. I know POR and POFQ share buses and depending which stop you are at may be a little bit longer to get picked up at POR and dropped off vs. driving directly..just my experience ;)

Whether you drive to DHS or take the bus (we take the bus- the stop at the main building is practically outside the door), DON'T leave your luggage in your car while you are at the park. Never mind anything being damaged by being exposed to the heat all day. It is not unheard of for cars to be broken into and things stolen. Not a good way to start your vacation. Take the extra 10 min. to store your luggage with Bell Services.

True, but the OP did ask to be at DHS ASAP. I personally wouldn't leave my luggage in the car unless it all fit in a regular car trunk not visible to passers by. Thieves go for what they can see (stuff visible in vans and suvs). If I had a trunk to have luggage in for the day, storing luggage with bell services would be a waste of time, IMO.

And there's no way riding a bus from POR to DHS would be as fast as driving a car. A) You have to wait for a bus, and B) It could very well make one or more stops. Driving yourself, it's just straight to the park, and you might not even need to ride the tram to get to the gate, if the park isn't too crowded or you're early enough. Your car after check-in at a resort is normally just outside the door, just beyond where the valet parkers need you to be.

I would leave the luggage in the car and drive to DHS as long as it's not too hot. I wouldn't want to leave my stuff in a super hot car. If it's going to be very warm or hot then I would drop the luggage off with Bell Services. Then again, the OP's room might be ready when she checks in. Stranger things have happened.

Driving is definitely much faster than the bus. I wouldn't leave my bags in the car either - there's the risk of theft and if it's summer the extreme heat. The bags can be checked by one person while the other person gets the park tickets so not time at all is lost.

We have left luggage in our car many times. Never an issue, and we tend to go in sep when temps are crazy hot.

Op if you want the quickest scenario, leave the luggage in the car, grab the tickets, and drive to the park. I would send one person in for the tickets and everyone else stay in the car.

Now, if by chance your room happens to be ready, I would unload first, just to save doing it later that night.

I'm assuming you have been on the cruise boards to get the lowdown on quick disembarking.
