Has anyone left the Poly for Hollywood Studios opening? If so what mode of transportation did you use? We are thinking of taking a Minnie Van Thursday morning to secure a boarding group for ROTR. We are trying to arrive at HS no later than 630.

We liked using Minnie Van. They drop you off at the front. We did not have to spend the extra time parking and walking up to the front. Just make sure to find out what time they start service. It takes about 15 minutes to get there, door to door.

Depending on the number in your party you are looking at about a third of the cost. The attraction of the Minnie vans amazes me. I get it if you need car seats but it’s pretty expensive. At $45 per trip you’re getting to the point that a car rental makes sense.

Yep, me too!

Not the Poly, but next door at the GF which shares buses w/ Poly. We took the bus from GF twice & successfully got BGs at DHS earlier this month. My notes are:
1/3 missed first bus which was @ 5:55 per MDE, caught 6:30 bus, barely made it thru check style by 7am, got bg 34.
1/7 caught 6:05 bus, arrived at DHS at 6:12, in DHS seated by the food places w/ coffee waiting when bg opened at 7 am, got bg 55.
Here’s the thread about how to maximize your chances of getting a bg https://www.disboards.com/threads/r...on-read-post-1-2-no-spoilers.3782822/page-371
Good luck!

It used to be $30 which I thought was quite fair and worth the upcharge for the car seat and door to door aspect.

OP—I personally would just take the bus. If you order a car you may end up waiting longer for it than for the bus.

A regular lyft is $12.50 plus tip and a Minnie Van is $38.82 plus tip from Poly to DHS.

Lyft or bust. I prefer Lyft to Uber because Lyft always throws promos at you and I have two credit cards that give me statement credit and bonus points respectively.

BTW, Lyft promos and credits work on Minnie Vans, but I don't like MVs in the morning because it takes forever to find a ride in comparison to regular Lyft, on top of being more expensive. We never waited more than like 5-6 minutes to get a Lyft from the Poly. There's always a ton of them in the area because of the sheer number of people using them to get to MK and area character breakfasts in the morning imo.

I wouldn't say there are a whole lot of them at 6am. Nothing else is open at that time other than DHS, so the need isn't there.

Anecdotes aren't data, but over the past couple of years I've done early AM EMHs a few times at three different resorts (Poly, BC & POFQ) to rope drop Flight of Passage, leaving the resort at about 6am or a bit earlier, and of the three, Lyft always came faster to the Poly. Obviously it's not the 2-3 minutes that you see during the day, but nowhere near on the upper end of 10 minutes the way I saw at POFQ and BC, with struggling to find rides. Regardless of the time of day, I always see them showing up faster.

Realize that early a.m. EMHs in the past are very different from the craziness that is everyone trying to get to DHS an hour before park opening to get bgs. Although Lyft/Uber was my back up plan, and we did catch a Lyft from DHS to DTD one evening (and the drop off/pick up spot is very convenient,) there were reports of early morning waits for Lyft/Uber to DHS on the ROTR thread when I was there, maybe that’s changed - but the bus was easy & quick, Disney knows you want to get to & in DHS before park open & they are running their buses to accomplish that.

I am fine keeping my $$ and arriving 5-20 minutes later:)

There are usually taxis waiting at the resorts if an uber isn’t readily available. Early morning is prime time for drivers so I wouldn’t imagine that it would take much more than five minutes to get one.
