Trying to add 2 days to my existing reservation in Dec and calling every day and having to go through the automated system EVERY time is gonna make me spork my eyes out . Anyone have a faster way to get to a person ?

I agree that the Disney automated customer service system can be frustrating. I think they add more questions when there is a wait to make you feel like the time is going faster. When the automated lady asks how she can help, try saying "Representative". It got me right in yesterday... then again, I may have just hit a slow time.

After answering the few questions asked of me, I've never waited more than a few minutes. In the broad scheme of life, it's not that big a deal. I think I'm more patient of Disney than I am with other companies that put you on hold. Perhaps because I enjoy the happy music in the background or the sound of the automated voice. Crazy, I know.

Once you've called a time or two.....or in my case, several dozen times:rolleyes1 I basically know what questions are coming and give the answer before "she" can get the question out. Don't worry about waiting for the entire question....just spit out the correct answer once you recognize the question. Might only shave a few seconds off but it makes me feel better!

I would love to know of a way to bypass the recorded questions and just get to ask if a site is available. I avoid calling like the plaque, but sometimes it is the only option. I try to call early in the morning, around 7 am, and have had luck with short wait times, but I still haven't found a way to avoid answering how many times I have visited WDW since a certain date, and the other inane things they ask you.

Thanks Judy in Texas ! At the first opportunity to direct my call i said "representative" and i was immediately put in que for a REAL person . And just FYI its not a matter of patience alone when you have to do this for over a month straight 7 days a week just to add 2 days .

This post reminded me of a site I've used regularly to get to a human as quick as possible:

http://www.gethuman.com/

If you click the "Extended" link at the top of the page you'll get the full company listing.

The WaltDisneyWorld entry they have won't work for reservation according to one of the comments, but the list may come in handy for other companies you need to contact.

You have called every day for over a month and not been able to get a live person? I am not attacking or second guessing you or even implying that you are not patient. I could definitely see why you would want to "spork your eyes out" if that is the case. Sounds like "representative" worked for you though. I might try that the next time I call my cable company over a discrepancy in my bill or when I need help because my internet has been out for days. Their automated person and questions make me homicidal!!!!!

Enjoy your time at the Fort especially now that you have 2 extra days.:)

If you fudge up too much, it redirects you to the keys. Which I think is just 111111.... don't worry if it's an exsisting reservation or new reservation They can still pull up your old one after they look for those two days.
The nice thing about the fort, is if you do end up with two reservations, they'll generally let you stay at your site the entire time. Last year, I had two reservations, one booked full price, one booked with the discount. They upgraded us for the first reservation to a full hook up site and let us stay at the same site the entire time.

I'd suggest looking online, booking it then calling and adding the two together.

What dates are you looking for??

And I think he gets through every day... but it is a pain to listen to the automated thing. I hate it as well. I don't mind being put on hold till my call can be answered but answering those stupid questions when they ask you the same thing once you get on the line is annoying.

no no no ...i can get a live person just fine . AFTER i go through the automated questions . The point of my post was to find a way to get to a human QUICKER. I have been trying to add 2 more days to my existing reservation for over a month and was tired of going through the questions to take up 1 minute of a reservationist time while the nice recorded voice lady took 5 of mine.
And I havent gotten the extra days yet , hence the post asking for help .

I wanted to say that yesterday I called WDW to add my father to our reservations. I just received an e-mail confirming this, however, his name was wrong on the changed reservation...way wrong.:confused3 Of course, I called them back to straighten this out and decided to try the "representative" thing instead of going through the questions. The whole call took 3 minutes and 18seconds.:rotfl2: Not that I was timimg, I just so happened to notice it when I ended my call. I would think afternoons would be quite busy for them. So, they either were not busy today (or yesterday when you called) or the quickest way to get through is to state "representative" when prompted to answer the first question.

I know this is unrelated to the original topic, but I thought I would add that during my phone call to Disney yesterday, I asked about homeschool days for 2010 and the CM told me that Disney does NOT have HS days. :confused3I told her we were coming in a few weeks to attend 2009 HS days and that I already had my tickets. She told me that she had worked at Disney for years and had never heard of HS days.

:rotfl2: Oooh sorry! I should try to do a better job of processing what I am reading!:magnify: I have never been the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Well now that we know the secret of getting a live person quickly, or at least quicker, it should be easier. I do hope you get the extra days.

Getting past all the automated questions is easy

On the first question just say speak with agent and your in and just waiting for the next available agent,

No:
have you ever been to WDW
have you been to WDW since 2004
have you been to WDW more than 5 times
Say your confirmation number
enter you home phone number
