Orlando Intl Airport is the first airport in the nation to enter into an agreement with the private sector to expedite the security screening process for registered travelers. Verified Identity Pass, Inc./Lockheed Martin, the company awarded the contract to operate the new "CLEAR" registered traveler program at OIA is accepting applications for time-concious travelrs who wish to move through airport security more quickly.
For a $79.95 fee, applicants undergo a federal security screening, fingerprinting and iris scan to obtain a "CLEAR" membership card. Once accepted into the program, members reduce the likelihood of random secondary searches. Verified Identity Pass, Inc. also guarantees it will guard the privacy of all members and will not track where cardholders travel. The goal is to expand the program to airports across the nation, further improving customer service and satisfaction.
