Faster than the Tower of Terror

A story in the Washington Post about the worlds fastest elevators says in part:

The Shanghai Tower’s elevator goes even faster than the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, a Disney haunted-elevator amusement-park ride that hurls thrill-seekers at 39 mph.

I wonder if Disney can crank up the speed.

I highly doubt they can make them significantly faster because of design and space constraints. The elevators in these super high-rise buildings have a lot of speeds to accelerate and to deaccelerate. I also have significantly more height to cover thus the need for speed.

What good would it do to increase the speed on the tower of terror?

The change in experience is negligible.

Besides...they seem to want to get rid of the experience for a dumb overlay that doesn't fit anyway
