We have a 3 year old and a 8 month old. I am debating on either having my DH or I do PV with my 3 year old and not all of us. My DH is adament that we all do it together. First off, we will NOT stand in line for an hour to get a "top" spot at PV, but show up at the check in time to get our return number/seat. (Last year with our then-2 year old, I showed up right at check in time and we got 2nd row great seats (August weekend) together as DD was on our laps.....they actually split an already seated childless couple apart to seat "our family". )Will they still seat us all together....as they can't split up parent and child if only single seats are left arriving at check in time. (3 year olds require their own seat, which will not be used as the only way she'll be able to see is on a lap).

Also, has anyone seen Fastasmic with an alert , little night owl 8 month old that will be awake during the show? I'm wondering how they handled the noise of the show. Does anyone think it is quasi-rude to bring such a little one that could possibly cry during the show (I would exit the PV area if baby began major crying).

Thanks in advance!

I don't know the answer re: splitting up families as I have never seen this :confused3 but I do have PS for an upcoming August show and will have DD12 and DGD1 with me. I was hoping she (DGD1) will be asleep during F! Because I don't want to have to get up and leave DD12 alone.
DGD1 has seen the fireworks when she was 9 months old and the booming didn't bother her at all. Actually she was pretty good riding POTC and HM it was Toy story that her screaming. :confused3
Anyway... I think many people bring their children.
It's just one of those things. Not rude at all :)

OMG. I'm horrified that they would do that to another family. Words....just can't describe. I hope that CM was fired for doing that to a family, no matter how small.

An 8 month old crying during the very very loud Fantasmic is barely going to be heard. That 3 year old, however, is going to be a very different child than the 2 year old she was, and it's quite possible you're going to be taking the older one out. The whole year of being 3 my son was scared of things...we never did see F then but he would have HATED it. And even at 4, the only way we got ot see it was b/c he passed out in his stroller...hubby and I did NOT like FAntasmic. Loud, scary, dramatic scary music, bad guy bad guy bad guy (and at one point we kinda lost the difference between Mickey and the bad guys, b/c he wasn't doing anything *good*, he was dominating them like they were dominating him)...we can't imagine seeing it again, and we wouldn't have seen it at all if DS had been awake! Too loud!

I actually enjoy the good vs evil show. I can not think of this type of show being very quiet and get the point across. I do not care for crying babies. After 4 kids and their formative years I had enough of that. I would not take a child that age to the F show just because it is noisy and scary for some. I would get babysitting for the child and then enjoy the show and so will everyone else.
I do not understand the splitting of a couple, that makes no sense!! Firing someone for that also makes no sense, maybe a little better education/training. There are too many people in the US being fired/layed off for no apparent reason 1 more does not support the economy or prove anything other than it was a mistake.

Just to explain further.....
The CM went up and I have to assume "asked" a 20-something couple and then moved them to a one-in-front-of-the-other seating arrangement. They did not seem upset, but I felt very guilty. They actually then gave us three seats ("in case then-2-year-old DD wanted to sit" - we only paid for the adult seats) but one was right up against the beverage cart, so I think it might be an "open seat". The CM really fussed over DD giving her special pins, her own desert box (which we didn't pay for), a signed picture of Mickey Mouse and some sticker. DD loved the show.

As a now-3 year old she isn't scared easily, in fact likes scary things. If we do it, we will schedule Fantasmic for the last night of our trip and see how she does on the rides.

As far as the baby, we don't do babysitters at all so that is not an option:scared1:

Thanks for the replies. Please keep them up.
