Fast Passes and Magic Bands (2015)

Hello! I have not been to Disney World since 2009 and I understand there has been quite a few changes since the last time I went. Can someone please explain to me how Fast Passes and Magic Bands work now? Thank you!

The magic band is disneys version of a hotel room key that everyone wears, it also ties in your photopass, dining, tickets, charging to your room (with pin code to protect you). You probably remember the paper fast passes, same thing except you pre-schedule them before you arrive and add on individuals if desired once you use them up.

PP's link will go into a lot more details, it's not a big deal once you get it's the room key + tickets and fastpass is pre-booked now.

And if you are planning an off-site stay, MagicBands are not necessary. Your hard, plastic ticket will allow you entrance to the parks and the FP lines.

One thing I would stress, the FP times are now hard limits. A few years ago, you could show up eight hours later, and they would let you in...
