So are Dland and DCA FastPasses connected? Like if you get a FP in DL, can you go over and get some from DCA?

Also, I can't remember which rides have FP's that aren't connected to the rest of the parks machines... Thanks. Sorry if this is confusing!

The fastpass machines in DL and CA are not connected, meaning that you can have just gotten a fastpass in DL, and then can zip over to CA and get another one. The machines that are disconnected from the rest of the fastpass system are Roger Rabbit's Spin (I know that's not the entire name, but I've never been on it & can't think of it right now!) in DL, and Grizzly River Run in CA.

By far the best and most up-to-date info on DLR is FP and (almost) all of the tricks is given here:

Yes, thanks. Printed and put in my binder!

I thought i would mention that Hydroguy's thread that described what he did on a particular day (i think last August) was very enlightening to me.

It gave me a feel for why collecting FPs early and creatively works well for one who likes to plan (or is a Disney FP geek like me).

(Was that part of your "DL in the crowded Summertime" thread, Trey?)

Anyways...reading "how it works", & then reading how he "worked it" was highly informative.

DL and CA were connected when we were there last year, we weren't aware of the odd disconnected FP machines, but we did try getting FPs in DL when we had FPs on a CA ride (Cal Scream I think) and couldn't. Even came up with the ride we already had FPs for.

Well, if your memory is correct and it happened that way it was highly unusual. On every trip I have been on over the last 4 years to DLR I have taken advantage of the disconnected FPs between DL and DCA.

I have heard of may others also doing this.

And the Bible of FP at DLR was written by Darkbeer and is a sticky thread over on MiceChat. This is the link:

Darkbeer regularly tests the FP system at DLR and reports changes usually within days or sometimes weeks. And he has reported for the last 2+ years that they are disconnected.

My FP advice is linked from my Summer Trip thread and my DLR Guide thread. Here is a direct link FYI

Yep, that's the link that opened my eyes to just how great FP can be. :thumbsup2

I think I'll add that since we stayed at PP (& entered (or) exited thru the GCH into DCA at least twice a day) it was easy to grab a quick FP at both Griz Rapids (a 20 step walk from the private GCH entrance) & Soarin' (which was maybe 200 yards but also on our way to other parts of DCA or DL).

The fact that both Soarin' & Griz are my 8 y/o son's (& my) favorite rides in DCA made this perk so cool. We rode them each twice the first two days & once on the last day. :cool1:

We were there in July and again the last weekend of Sept. We had no problems getting FP's at both parks at the same time. We were able to get FP's for Soarin' while holding them for Space Mtn and Indiana Jones, we also grabbed FP's for Grizzly at the same time as Soarin'. My DBF argued with me and told me we couldn't do that since we had just got them for Soarin'. So I took the kids and my AP's and walked up and got FP's.......then he believed me. LOL I had explained to him how Grizz and RR aren't connected but it didn't register what I meant until I did that. LOL So, as of Sept. 30th you could hold FP's for both parks at the same time.

Especially during the summer, the GRR unnetworked FP is one of the best tips out there. Sometimes those lines get very long midday. And I can also confirm that the two park's systems are not connected. We have obtained FPs for 4 different rides within an 30 minutes or so (Roger Rabbit & something at DL and GRR & something at DCA)
