fast pass with bands?

How early are you allowed to book fast pass attractions with your bands?

If you already have tickets (or ticket vouchers) :

30 days in advance if you do not have a WDW Resort stay booked.

60 days in advance if you DO have a WDW Resort stay booked.

OK thanks. We do have a resort stay booked but we haven't received our magic bands yet so I wasn't sure.

What are your dates?? you can start making fast passes at midnight on the 60 day mark. My DOA is July 5 and mine opened last night

You don't need the bands. Whether you have them in hand or not, you can make FP+ reservations within the time limit, so long as you have valid park admission linked to your MDX account.

When my time does come how many fast pass reservations can you make? I heard it was a limited amount? Can I make one on my band for my whole family and then use my husband's band to make another reservation and then use the kids to make separate reservations? Or does every riding have to have the same fast pass reservation?

First of all..stop thinking about the bands as storage devices, as they are not. There is nothing stored on the bands, all they do is form a link when scanned to read what is stored in the Disney database.

If your family is all listed together on the MDX account, and each has valid park admission linked, then you can make reservations for all of them at once if that is what you want, or you can choose who gets which passes. You can book 3 fastpasses per guest in advance per day, but they must all be in the same park - you can't book FPs ahead for different parks in the same day. And you can book them for the entire family all at once and then change them if you want to.

Thank you for the info but it shouldn't matter how I think of them so I think that comment was unnecessary. They don't physically store stuff but they do store all your info including fast pass reservation so that when you scan it the reader knows you have a pass.

Each person gets 3 FP+ per day that can be pre-booked, all at 1 park. They don't all have to be for the same ride, though you can choose to do that. Children younger than I think 8 MUST ride with an adult though, so if your kids are littles, any FP+ for them will also have to have one for you and/or your husband.

Actually, they are like a 'liason' between the scanner and your account. Which is why you could take mulitple MBs and use them all on the same trip!...as long as they are in your name anyway.
Anyway...to answer your question....when it comes time to make your FP+ choices, you will go to your MDX account. You will bring up each day of your stay, and choose the people that you want to make FP+ choices for...I imagine that it will be for your entire family. Then, a screen will come up, giving you the possible attractions with possible return times. You make your first choice. Then do the same thing again for a second choice and a third choice. And then do it for each day of your stay. Then, when you go into your reservations page, on MDX, you will see the FP+.
But...everyone in your family has to be linked to you in order for them to get included in your choices. Otherwise, they will have to make their own choices. They will have to have their own MDX accounts that are linked to yours. It's all easier than it sounds!!!
Then, when it's time to go to that particular attraction and use your FP+, each person will scan their band on the scanner at the entry point for the attraction. And that's how the CM knows you all have a FP+ that is valid.

Hope this helps a bit...it can be confusing until you actually use it.

It does matter how you think of the bands.

The store nothing. You could leave them in the box until your trip. You could stay off site, not get bands at all and still book FP+.

It does indeed matter how you think of the bands. The bands are nothing but a "key." You can leave all your bands home and still have access to your account. You could book FP+ and never even use bands, you could use a physical RFID ticket or card instead. You don't put FP+ "on your bands" and if you are all on one account, you can manage everyone's FPs yourself from that one account.

Thank you for all the info. I didn't mean for It to get so technical. I just wanted to know how many fast passes could be booked. Thanks again
