Heading to Disney World for the first time with 2 children this Sunday! What fastpass strategy when the parks open do we need for Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom to ensure we can fit "most" everything in.:confused3

For hollywood studios, get there early. Like 30 minutes before opening. go directly to Toy Story Mania. no seriously like run! RUN!!!!! (the kids will think its kind of funny actually):yay: If you arrive at a decent time you may be able to get a fastpass for late morning. Then get right onto Tower of Terror. Even if the wait is like 30 minutes already. I promise you that the wait is not bad at all. and sometimes its even better hearing all the screams. (builds up suspense) :rotfl2: Then i would hop over to Rock 'N' Rollar coaster. If the wait is under 45 i would get on. 60 is iffy but i would do it anyway. By this point you are all probably pretty hungry, so stop over at the starring rolls cafe on your way to TSM. Then ride TSM.

Just a personal recommendation, i would go see american idol and indiana jones. they are my favorite. But whatever you do DONT MISS LIGHTS MOTORS ACTION, it is a fantastic show!

As for magic kingdom, its really up to you. But i would do it this way:
Get there early again and go right to space mountain and get fast passes for this. Running isnt as needed here but oh go ahead and do it anyway! :rotfl2:Then go to mikes laugh floor and maybe grab a pretzel. If you are early enough ride space mountain then. Then go over to big thunder mountain. ride big thunder first. then splash moutain. Try for fast passes for splash. if not just get in line. i promise its not that bad. so now you have offcially done the big three. I would recommend POTC and everything in adventureland next. Be sure to shop at main street and shop! and then get your spot for wishes.

hope this helps, ill be going on my 12th trip in august so if you have any other questions just ask! i would consider myself an expert at this point :thumbsup2

I agree w/ pp on HS. Get TSM FP first, as fast as you can. You will probably be waiting in a long FP line for TSM. I would then ride TSM standby.

Depending on your kid's ages, RnRC and ToT next as pp said or Star Tours. The rest of HS will be manageable in any order.

For MK, again, depending on your kid's ages either Splash Mt, Space Mt, or something in Fantasyland, if they're little ones.

Keep track of your return times and get a second FP as soon as you can.

It may be a little overstated above, but it depends a bit on crowd levels when you are going. Keep in mind, this Sunday is the final day on the final Star Wars Weekend, so it will be more crowded than usual on Sunday, but it still may not be peak wait periods.

When DD#1 and I went to SWW a few years ago, we were able to ride everything and do some SWW things as well and hit another park that evening.

If you want to maximize still, TSM is the first thing you want to hit, and you should get there EARLY, especially because of SWW. But you'll get a fun show before opening by the Stormtroopers.

Head STRAIGHT to TSM. Don't run - they won't let you. Just follow the crowd. But decide if you want to ride now or later. If you ride now, the wait will probably not be very long - if you're at the front of the crowd, it could even be less than the wait to get a FP! Otherwise get in one of the FP lines.

Then I'd head to RNRC and TOT and ride those, then use the TSM FP.

After that, you could get a FP for Star Tours (if in use - even during SWW it may not be bad), or Indy (if in use and you want to see it).

If you are going FOR SWW, you'll need to consider what SWW events you want to deal with and schedule around them.

Edit: I think I read your post as going to DHS on Sunday. If you're not going to DHS that day, don't worry about SWW, but the rest still applies.

Thanks for the great advice! We actually have ADR for character meal at Hollywood and Vine for breakfast so will already be in the park. Hollywood Studios seems like a great plan. I'm the most nervous about MK since we have not been there  Hopefully it will work out. Just want to make sure we can do most all the "musts" at MK!

Get a fast pass for TSM right when you get there. My first visit,mi arrived at the park about 9:30 and the fast pass was already for 4:00. Get the unofficial guide to Disney and read that. It help tremendously if you know which rides you need to ride and which rides you kinda want to ride. It also gives a touring plan that helps you find out the best order to ride the rides in
