Fast Pass Runner Question

We are a family of three, meeting up with another family of three. We are experienced and our friends are Disney first-timers.

If I recall correctly, each ticket holder must be present to enter the park to activate their ticket for the day.

Is it true that you cannot pull a fast pass until the ticket has been activated?

Therefore, I can not run over to DCA to get RSR fast passes when our friends are in MK. Yes? At least not until they activate their tickets at the DCA entrance.

Unless things have changed, as long as the ticket has been used to enter DCA or DL, you can get FPs in either park. So, if your friends have already entered DL, you can take their tickets to DCA to get RSR FPs. I haven't tried this in several years, but I know that the CMs were saying this was still the case back in May.

DisneylandPlanner has it wrong. Each person has to have entered a park that day, but it doesn't matter which one. Then his/her ticket may be used to obtain FPs at either park.

This was still the case as of last month (or the one before). Our whole family entered DL together. Then DH ran across to DCA and grabbed FPs for all of us over there.

As long as the tickets have been scanned into one of the parks, they can be used for FP at either park.
(unless this has changed very recently).
