Hi all, I have a couple questions 1) for radiator racers I read that a line forms at park open to get fast passes...question is if my friends are behind me can they meet up with me to give me their tickets so I can get their fp? Is there room for them to do that before they go to toy story? Will people get mad if they do that? I also read about disconnected fast passes; is buzz lightyear still one? I don't care about fireworks fps, just the rides. Does ca have any disconnected fps? Tia

They don't allow lining up for RSR FP anymore. Either way, there's not really the mad rush their used to be. But if you are waiting for FP when they get there they can hand off their tickets. There are no fireworks FPs. Buzz is the only disconnected FP in DL, WOC is the only disconnected FP in DCA.

So would I be able to get on the ride quickly if we are there before rope drop and get a fast pass after. I should note that the day we are going is an early entrance day at ca.

Will you be staying onsite - if so then you could easily ride RSR and then do several other rides before getting a FP for RSR as you cannot pull FPs until regular park opening hours. If you are not staying onsite and will be entering DCA after the EMH guests have been in the park for an hour the line up for RSR will already be significant unless you want to do single rider. Single rider is great if you don't mind being in different cars. My family did this several times our last visit as while we had already rode it many times and gotten our pictures so after that we just figured who cares. One time my DD and I actually raced each other which can be fun! She won though.

As to your friends catching up with - I don't think there is near the line there used to be - for them to come up to you while you wait and hand you their tickets would not be a big deal - although people do frown about people holding spots for others. Also, I am not sure if they still do this but they used to have CMs take your passes and use the FP machines for people at park opening but that might have changed. It sure did speed things up as some people walk up to a FP machine like it's 1987 and they are meeting a bank machine for the 1st time.

When I was in the parks in December, they had CMs stationed in the FP distribution area, but they no longer took your tickets and got your FPs for you. They were there to answer questions and help if you had any problems, but you had to pull your own FPs.

We are just doing a day trip so won't have ee; I'm just going to get fast passes at park opening and doing single rider if we want to do it again. Is the rsr fast pass machine by bugs life? Do I just go past carthay circle? Thanks everyone.

What do you mean they don't allow lining up for RSR FP? Do they come out and squirt people with water guns until they leave the area or something?

CMs will not allow you into the area to line up for RSR FP prior to the park opening and they no longer provide a formal line that leads to the FP queue. Yes, if you try to wait in the area they will ask you to leave.

So what is FP distribution like then on these days? Does a long ling form anyway once the park is opened? Or is the FP demand lower now and the made dash to get FP's not as much of an issue as it was 2 years ago (when we last visited)?

We were there this weekend on a non EE day opening at 9am. They let in people at the gate before 9. Rope drop at 9. We were at Cathay circle many people deep behind the rope. We stayed on the left and slowly walked behind the crow and went to pull RSR Fastpass. I had FP in hand by 9:10 with 10:10 return time. We then rode TSMM, fun wheel and goofys(could have ridden screamin - no wait). Then back to RSR. I don't remember when the ran out of RSR FP but they do run out before noon.

Never been before so sorry if this is obvious, but if we are staying off site but going to DCA on an ee day, what kind of line will there be to get a FP for RSR right after the park opens to all guests? And when you say there isn't a formal line, what kind of line is there?

I think what SMD is saying is that there used to be a CM who would start the line near Carthay Circle and walk it to the FP distribution machines at the entrance to Bugs Land. Now you just get in a short line AT the machines and get your FP's. Since demand has died down a bit -at this point a lot of guests have ridden RSR many, many times- the line has moved very quickly and I would have between 3-15 people ahead of me generally when I went for our FP's in February and then in August / September. I wasn't going for them first thing, but I had plenty of time to do Toy Story or a ride in DL before I ran for our FP's. I think you should have plenty of time to do the same and enjoy Toy Story with your group! Then they can explore the rest of the Pier while they wait for you to return with FP's. The return times may have been afternoon, but it didn't really matter to us. I had to wait for a while for them one day because I was trying for a night time ride - which was awesome! If you're around at dusk, be sure to wait on the main drag for the neon lighting moment - its a very cute Disney touch! Have fun!

We are going May 18-20. Does the standby line get shorter later in the evening? We won't arrive at the park until about 2 on Wed. I'm thinking that the FP will all be gone. What is the line like later in the evening?

RSR is a ride that has a consistently long wait time all day long from what I have seen. Depending on the ages in your party, if the line is too long your first day then you could always try single rider. There are also grad nights, so that could impact the crowds later in the day at DCA, so you could try stand by or single rider your first day and then make sure to grab FPs the next two days.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going March 18 which appears to be spring break; it's also an ee day for California adventure so does that change things? Should I wait for a fp first thing or will I have time to go on ride first?
