Hi There,

My wife and I are thinking about taking a last minute trip to Disney for a few days during the week of April 12-19th. We are DVC members and if I can't get a room reservation on points then I will just pay cash, so we will be staying on property. We were also thinking of getting the Annual Pass once we got there.

However I was wondering:

1. Are we going to be locked out of the major attractions since we waited until now to book our trip?

2. Can you book FP's if you have a room booked but haven't purchased your park passes yet?

3. Is this system going to make travelling to the parks during high traffic times like Easter week easier or more stressful and congested?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Scott

Number one and three are based on my opinion so no concrete answer for u. Number two. Need passes or at least a will call number that u have purchased and are picking up when u get there.

Thank you for your response. Would your opinion be that its a bad idea to go at this point?:worried:

I wouldn't let FP+ determine whether I traveled to WDW or not. Once you purchase your tickets you can select FP's. We were able to book and reschedule TSM and Soarin the day we used them. When the parks are crowded it allows you to show up and enjoy your already scheduled FPs in a timely fashion. We liked the old system but it is gone so we figured how to make this one work for us. We schedule afternoon or evening FPs and go to a different park in the morning wait standby for attractions before the crowds get unbearable. I would go at Easter and enjoy WDW.

I don't care how busy it gets at Disney cause we go 3 or so times a year so if we don't do something we want we know we will be back in a few months so crowds don't bother me. If you love Disney and you won't be disappointed that you missed something cause of crowds, do it! We r going Easter Sat for the week. Hey if it's nuts so be it. Such is life! It's all what you make of it. If it was me and I had the chance to go, it wouldn't even be a choice. I'm on the plane and going!

Regarding fast passes. Who knows what you will get. I think it's such a crap shoot. I have been messing with mine for major stuff and haven't had issues but again just me. i know others will chime in.

It's always better to be in disney:))) go and enjoy! Fast pass + is great. They with hold a certain amount of fastpass plus reservations until the day of so they don't book up. This is what I heard. And when I went last in November I didn't have a problem switching times for some headliners. I've travelled in September, November (right after Veterans Day)and February(presidents week)to disney. Always seems crowded to me no matter when.

As far as FP+ goes, we will be there April 13-18. We've had no problem getting/switching them... so far. The 2 teens in our party have switched FP attractions several times, even some last night.

There were a few rides I switched last minute while on site. The only one I was locked out of was TSM at HS. We weren't planning on going to HS this trip but changed our minds-- so the night before I booked a few FPs but couldn't get TSM. It said no times available. I did not try again at the park as we were not getting there right at opening. Now, with this all said, it was not Easter week. I wouldn't worry about anything and just enjoy the perfect Florida Springtime weather.

I know there are a lot of FP+ haters but I absolutely love it. Two trips now and the bands have worked great for us. Our mornings are so much more pleasant not having to rush to the parks. If the rumors are true and they give us another FP once we've we used our 3, I'll be a happy camper!
