FAST PASS question

I searched for this question, but I couldn't see it anywhere!
I just hope it doesn't sound TOO stupid!

This will be our first trip to attempt FASTPASS. We take our individual park hopper tickets and put it in the machine, correct?
And then the machine will spit out a FAST PASS for a later time.
My stupid question is...if you are entering a group..in our case we only have 3 people - is there a chance it could give us 3 different times to return?

Has anyone ever had that happen or will it always give the same time to 3 people within a 5 minute interval??
Any FAST PASS help would be appreciated! :flower:

Chances are, if you get your family gets their FASTPASS tickets at the same time, you will all have the same return time. Here's why...

The FASTPASS return time is displayed on a clock near the FASTPASS ticket machines. The return time displayed will be the time printed on all the passes being given out at that time. Once a select (Disney secret) number of passes for that retrun time are given out, the return time moves up (gets later).

Hope this helps,

I don't think it is a stupid question. I have thought it myself while processing the FP's. I have never heard of it happening though. The first time I went to get some FP's last week I didn't have all my cards together when I put my own through...so I had to search through my wallet to get the others and the thought did occur to me that the time could possibly change!
From then on, I always made sure that I had all cards in my hand when I went up to FP!

I suppose it could potentially happen, but I've never seen or heard of it happening. If it does I'd just mention it to the CM there (there's usually one somewhere near the FP machines) and they'll probably get you more with matching times or tell you all to come back at the same time anyway. It shouldn't be a problem. Disney really doesn't want to split up groups.

You should all get the same time. The time changes in 5 minute increments so in the event that you put in a ticket as the time is changing, you would just wait the 5 minutes until that person time comes. They are very strict to the minute when they let you through fast pass! The cool thing is that while you can only get one fast pass ticket at a time say if your time to go back to the ride is between 4:15 and 5:15, it says you can get another fast pass at 3:45. We did that for Mickey Philharmagic and Peter Pan's flight and got to ride one right after the other. We did use fast pass quite a bit........very helpful. I don't know why so many people don't use it!

One thing to be careful of, once I put in all 3 tickets for me, DH and Dd while they stood in a line for another attraction and I must have put one in twice and didn't check all three fast passes until I was in line with Dh. When I looked, one of them said that a fast pass had already been given for that ticket. I went back over to the CM who figured out what I had done and corrected it. WHat a mess that would have been if I didn't check each pass!!!

Yes, it can happen, it has happened to me, but the last FP was only 5 minutes off from the others. The only problem you could have is if the FP times were getting close to park closing time. I'm not sure if they issue FPs up to closing time or not.

It does happen occasionally, as when DH & I were getting FP's and the machine he was trying to use wasn't working. By the time he got to one of the other machines and waited for the Dad ahead of him to get 8 FPs, the time had changed. The upside is, the return time changes in 10 minute increments. With a 1 hour window in which to return, you still have 50 minutes of overlapping time, so no problem.

I have never used an expired one, but I know that I have NEVER seen a CM actually looked at the time (or date) on the FastPass. They just take them as you hand it to them. It keeps the line going. Some CMs might look at the date and time, but not in my experiences.

This may be a dumb question but, is it possible to for ex., grab a fast pass for Splash Mountain then run off and get one for Thunder Mountain right after? Are there any restrictions on the time in between each fast pass swipe?

We have 1 of the 3 of us with a time 10 minutes laters, we able to use all three at the earlier time.

We didn't have any problems using an expired FP. If it said to return between 1 and 2 we often didn't get back until say 3 and had no problems.
