Let's say I have an FP for Soarin scheduled at 11:30, but I get held up in another line and don't get back to Soarin until 12:45. Do I lose my FP priviledge for that time?

FastPasses have a one-hour window. That being said, you will read conflicting info here. Some will say you will get turned away if you're after your time, and some will say they do it all the time with no troubles. It seems to depend upon the CM working at the FastPass return entrance.

Try it. If you do get turned away because you're late, come back a little later to see if the CMs have changed positions yet. If it's a different person, go for it!

We used about 5 a day during our November trip, and were probably late for about 2 a day or so. We never had a problem getting through, but we usually were only .5 -1.5 hours past our window and this was always early in the day (never past 3pm or so). I have heard of people having trouble later at night, closer to closing time, when alot of people may be coming to the fast pass line with over due times and the fast pass line starts to have a wait. I don't think it would be a problem in the morning or afternoon.

Generally (and the overwhelming number of responses have confirmed this), although you can't enter a FastPass entrance EARLIER than the posted time-window, you can almost certainly enter at any time LATER that same day.

I have never had even the slightest "flicker" from a CM when I've showed up with "late" FastPass on any attraction.

HOWEVER, the specific question was about SOARIN' (the most popular attraction at WDW at this time).

It would make sense to "err on the side of caution" for this ride in particular... get back to ride it on time !! ;)

Alot of it depends on how busy the ride is. Most other rides you would be fine but on Sorin you might have a problem.
