Fast Pass Question-Please help

We are going Spring Break Week and will be there March 22-24. We plan on being in MK our first day.
I made FP today for 3 rides
Space Mountain 9:55-10:55
Thunder Railroad 12:35-1:35
Dinner at Tony's 5:00
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train 7:15-8:15

My question is this...
If I read the rules right we CANNOT get a new FP until we use ALL 3 rides which would be well into the evening. My DH thinks we should be there at opening and go straight to the SD Mine Train Ride and cancel our FP for it and change it to get SPlash Mountain at a earlier time. Then we could get more FP hopefully.

Thoughts? I know the lines get really long for the mine train ...
What would you do???

You are correct in that you cannot get 4th FP until all of the first 3 have been used.

We usually try to arrive at the parks at rope drop then book our FP with the first one starting sometime around 2 hours after park opening with the remaining two FP following closely behind. This allows us to start booking 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. earlier in the day.

If you plan to get there at opening you can usually ride the really popular rides without having to use a fastpass for them. Then you can use your fastpasses for anything else. My wife and I don't get there at opening but we try our hardest to get as early fastpasses as we can for the popular rides. The earlier you finish your 3 fastpasses the sooner you can start making your 4th, 5th, 6th and so on.

I agree with your husband. There will be a wait for 7D Mine Train, but it won't be horrible if you are there right at rope drop. Do that, then if you are interested in Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh, I would go ahead and do those standby. If you aren't interested in those, then I would say head to Big Thunder and Splash.

You should be able to do 3 rides in the morning before the lines get really bad. I would try to get a FP in that 10:55 to 11:55 window. Use that one closer to 10:55, and you have some time between that one, and your Big Thunder FP to grab lunch.

I'm inclined not to give up a 7DMT FP because they are harder to get than Splash. I would focus on trying to move my 7DMT time to earlier in the day. I've had success at this just by trying every day. Times open up as the date gets closer. Then, You can RD Splash.

I would keep checking for an earlier FP for 7DMT, if you could get one before dinner that would really help your plans. You may not get one but if you do, you can work on your 4th and maybe 5th while enjoying dinner. If not as others suggested, RD 7DMT and pick something @ 2:00 for your 3rd FP. Keep in mind by 1:30 - 2:00 you may not get a FP for any of the headline attractions anyway.

I agree with your husband.

I book our fastpasses between 11:00 and 2:00. After we use those 3, we can easily get 10 to 12 more fastpasses.
