Ok, I went to WDW and was able to try out Fast Pass. Interesting way to help keep the lines down but it got me thinking: does it help?

Case in point: A few years ago I was able to go to IOA for a preview; discounted price and very little crowds. It took me 3 hours to ride everything (and that was with repeated rides of Hulk and Spiderman). After that, there was nothing left.

Everyone loves it when there are no crowds, but the wait in line is actually helpful. It takes away time so that you won't find yourself wondering what to do when you finish riding and seeing everything waaaay before closing. Plus, the rise of entertainment while in line is increasing. Having no crowds pushes you quickly through scenes in the line that help tell the story. Fast pass quickly takes you through everything and you don't get the chance to examine and try to find hidden jokes/mickeys in the line.

There have been times when I went to WDW during the busiest time of the year and yet got to ride and see everything.

What does everyone else think of Fast Pass?

I agree. I think half of the experience is waiting in line. I used to love waiting in line for space mountain, Splash mountain, and Kali river rapids. But on our last trip we just used fast passes most of the time because we already saw what the line had to offer. waiting in lines are also good cuz you get to talk to some interesting people. Fast passes are good if you are pressed for time or want to ride a popular ride more than once.

I think fastpass is so much better. As much as waiting in lines has a lot of detail I would much rather ride the same ride twice then wait in line and go on it once.

Fast Pass is definitely beneficial. There's no rule saying that you have to use it, so if you still want to wait in line you can. I agree that some of the lines are really cool to wait in because of all the theming, but I usually use Fast Pass just because I'd rather ride everything several times or get through everything then relax.

fast pass can be helpful sometimes, but i dont really mind waiting on the line, cuz they do make it interesting. i mean sometimes the lines get annoying, like the Safari line...thats probably the longest line Ive ever waited on!!!....but whatever...it gives me more "quality time" with my family!!
