Trying to set our Fast Passes and i'm wondering, will we need one for the Great Movie Ride? Or should i get one for Toy Story Midway Mania. We want to ride both, but want to get the Fast Pass for the ride that will probably have the longest lines.

Definitely Toy Story! You can always try for a 4th FP for Great Movie Ride after you've used the first 3.

Toy Story Midway Mania far and away. It is not unusual for this ride to have hour plus lines. Great Movie Ride is seldom more than 15 minutes, and often less.

TSM hands down...even though it's been around a number of years now, TSM is still the most popular ride at DHS simply because people want to play it over and over again...it's just a fun ride. GMR is also fun but you do it once and thats it. Plus the GMR cars hold a lot of people at once so even when there is a line, it's generally pretty short.
I would only use a FP+ on GMR if there was nothing else to use it on.

Thank You! i haven't been on either, but my sister was raving about Toy Story Mania.

While that often used to be the case, with the advent of FP+, the lines for GMR are often backed up with guests standing in a long queue that runs out of the door of the pre-show theater and extending well into the outdoor courtyard.

We just got back from WDW and were dismayed by the long, long lines for traditionally easy to ride attractions.

Exactly! While TGMRR is still usually an easy 4th FP+, the standby line is much longer than it used to be. We always travel to Disney in June and prior to 2015 we never waited more than 10 minutes for TGMR. Last June we did TSMM at rope drop (off the ride by 9:05) and then went over to TGMR -- stopped for a quick no-lines-no-waiting M&G with Donald & Daisy right at the entrance to TGMR and then walked on the ride. However, by the time we got off the ride, there was a substantial line and it stayed at a 30+ minute wait for the rest of the day. I've seen many reports that other than first thing in the morning and later in the evening, TGMR is typically a 30+ minute stand-by wait now. Fortunately, there seems to be plenty of availability for a 4th FP for it.

We were there on Jan 11th, and stand by lines for TGMR were consistently 30 to 40 minutes every time we walked by it.

Went last week of January and never saw a line longer than 10 minutes. Went on a couple times where we just went into the preshow theatre and once the doors opened, we hopped right on. It was in the mid 60's and raining, so that may have played into it.

Well, I almost don't know what to say. We had a bit of a wait last summer for TGMR, but not 30 - 40 minutes, and I didn't realize that had become the norm. I would still think that TSMM would need a FP more than TGMR, but perhaps grabbing that as a 4th is not a bad plan.

Definitely TSMM. We rope drop it and then FP it too. Wait time is consistently over 90 minutes by the time we get off the first time (which is usually still before official park opening time). If I want to ride Great Movie ride, the lines have always been 10-20 minutes before about 10:00 (I know that can vary), and I have been able to get it as a 4th FP many times. Although I'm sure it occasionally happens, I have never seen Toy Story available as a 4th FP.
