Fast pass for animal kingdom and how to plan day

I land in Orlando at 8 am and plan to have park bags already packed and get to the park as soon as possible. I guess I need to head to resort with luggage and then head straight to AK

Here is what I know:

MUST do FOP, MUST do safari... Cannot decide between Kali rapids and dinosaur (son loves dinosaurs). early reservation at tusker house 5 pm. Want to do lion king show before dinner.

What time should I make fast passes? How should I plan my day so I can be at lion king by 3:30- what ride should I use the last FP on- also I want to do safari before lion king so I am thinking. I'm really hoping to get to park by 10:30 (is that realistic?) so what should my plans be from 10:30-2

2-3 needs to be safari
3:30-4:30 lion king
5-6:30 dinner

I want to leave after dinner because I purchases extra magic hours for MK the next morning

Do you have FP for FOP or no?

I wouldn’t be looking at booking any FP until nearer 12pm onward that way you have plenty time to get from the airport to your resort and then on to AK. If your taking the ME we average on 1-1 1/2 hours From airport to resort.
Get your FoP one first if that’s the most important and work from there. If your eating at Tusker or want to see lion king then the last one I would make would be safari as those are on the same side of the park,
Nemo show is worth seeing so that’s about an hour or so if time and a nice way to ease into your day.
Kali I would go early to that one as no one wants to sit through a meal all wet so earlier the better to dry off.

I don’t think you will make it by 10:30 but take that with grain of salt because I never fly.

If you do get there at 10:30 you’ll need to eat lunch too so factor that time in. I would do this:

Plan to be there by noon:

Enter Pandora have lunch at satuli canteen
It’s good and close to enterance so you no one is getting hangry (this is my #1 focus on travel day)
If son won’t enjoy eating there Pizzafari is also close

Fop FP for 1-2 hit this early in window
Lion king show 2:00
Safari FP 2-3 getting there late in window
Dinosaur FP 3-4
You could possibly make a 3:30 nemo or you could try to pick up a 4th of kali, meet Mickey and Minnie in safari outfits, it’s tough to be a bug.
Dinner at 5
I don’t know what time of year but if you can catch tree of life on your way out of park. Only takes a minute and is great.

How old is your son? The Dinosaur ride is jerky, loud, and can be very scary for little ones, even if they do love dinosaurs. The other problem you may run into, depending on age, is the Boneyard which you will pass on your way to Dinosaur. Kids can spend HOURS in this play yard, so be aware of its lure.

I cannot switch my days because I am there for a full 3 days. I have already paid and want to use the extra magic hours (whatever the one is where you pay $150 to get into park early and ride things without line) to HS and MK the other two days and I really want to do that. So AK needs to be this day.

It was my fast pass day this morning, and I was not able to get FOP on the first day. I could get it the second day, but it was in the evening. I was trying for a party of 3. I hope you have better luck.

How about if you get park hopper tickets and then you could do EMM or EMH at whatever park has them and schedule your fast passes for another park later in the day? That way, you could go to AK on day 2 or 3 and you would have a better chance of getting a FP for FOP.

Is your son 44 inches or taller? That’s the requirement for Flight of Passage.

Just commenting on the fastpass selection, but I think Kali usually has a greater line especially in the afternoon than Dinosaur would. You would probably have a shorter wait in standby for Dinosaur and the wait is mostly inside. So I would pick Kali to FP

Yes to this, today was my day, and I was not able to get FOP at all for day 1.

How are you getting to your resort from the airport?

If using Magical Express to get from the airport to the resort, the luggage should be delivered to your room later so there is no need to spend time fooling around with it. You can immediately go to Animal Kingdom. I think there is a very good chance of getting to the Animal Kingdom by 10:30 but would plan on a little later. Fastpasses have a one hour window plus 15 extra minutes.

What resort are you staying at? If time is running tight, you may want to consider Uber and Lyft for a ride from the resort to Animal Kingdom.

Looks like this is going to come down to whether you can get the FoP FP for the arrival day...
