Fast Pass/ Baby Swap question

HI. Doing my last minute planning. I've been thinking about this and meaning to ask for a long time. Anyway, when it was just the 3 of us, DH and I would use fastpass instead of babyswap, for example on Test Track we would get 2 fastpasses. When it was time, Dh would go at the beginning of the window and I would go when he was done, taking turns staying with DD. Now, DD is big enough to ride (and loves Test Track), but we have DS who is 18 months. I know that with baby swap, the big kid is allowed to ride both times, but is it possible to do that if we use fastpass? In otherwords, the 1st parent and DD use fastpass and then the second parent and DD use babyswap? I hope I am making sense.

Thanks for any answers, if you can follow my fuzzy logic.

It works perfectly! That is what we do also. We had used this trick of Test Track, Splash Mountain, Tower or Terror, etc.

Great! So, we tell the fastpass "taker" that we want to babyswap? Will we both need FPs? But not my DD?

We have season passes again after taking a 2 year break while I was pregnant and then DS was too small. It was a whole new ballgame taking DD, now we'll learn how to deal with 2! Can't wait until we can all ride together!!!

You need to get fastpasses for the first two riders. Tell the CM you want to baby swap and they will hand you a baby swap pass. The adult who is riding second carries this when they go to the line (child doesn't need one). You are then directed into the fastpass entrance. It's like having fastpasses for both adults and 2 for the child!

I understand that the child would get to ride twice, but I don't understand why you don't need 3 fast passes - one fast pass for each person entering the fast pass line.

Am I missing something?

When you are going through the second time--i.e. the second adult and child for the second time--you are going in on a baby swap pass. Therefore, you do not need a fastpass. You just get put in the fastpass line.

We did that this past trip and noticed that one baby swap pass is good for 3 people at a time. Just and FYI...

This is exactly what I needed to know too. With 3 kids of different age, riding requirements can vary (DD5, DS3 and DS1) Thanks for this great tip, we'll be sure to use it.

Thanks so much everyone! I was hoping it would work this way. I am glad some other folks were able to learn from my question too!!

Gotta go get packing!

We were able to let two of the older kids ride twice. We did need to get fastpasses for all the riders originally, but when we told the CM that we needed a Child Watcher Pass, I believe he gave some of the Fastpasses back to us along with the Child Watcher Pass.

What we really liked about this system is the baby didn't have to wait in line with us, the other parent could take him off to a child friendly spot and then we would meet up and switch riders.

Just an FYI I highly recommend checking with the CM each and every time and inform them you want to use child swap. The procedure varies from CM to CM, ride to ride and even day to day on the same ride! Better safe than sorry esp during a busy time.

Generally speaking you can use the FP's for the first group and get a CS pass for the parent (adult) waiting with the non-riding child. Most CM's want to see the non-rider when giving out the pass so make sure the entire party is together. Then the parent waiting with the non-rider can then find something else to do, another attraction, play area or ice cream break. After the first party rides you can meet up and the second parent can ride with as many others a the CS pass allows.

could it work this way......

using Splash and Big Thunder as examples....

Me and son (9) get fastpasses for splash. when time comes to use fastpasses we all (me, him, hubby and baby) all go to entrance of fastpass line and inform CM that we want to kid swap and they give us a kid swap pass which hubby holds. Me and son get in FP line. Hubby and baby take all our park tickets over to Big Thunder Fast Pass machines and gets two fastpasses. They return to Splash area. When son and i get off splash, we meet up with hubby and he and son use kis swap pass to ride splash. When FP time for big thunder comes up we do the entire process over again. (obtaining our next FP at another FP attraction)

Will that work? is that cheating the system? or just using it effectively?

The CM goofed. He should have expected you to produce three fastpasses, one for each in the party (except the baby).

With two fastpasses we don't even have a baby swap situation. Technically one parent can accompany the baby outside while the other parent and the school ager ride.
