Are there any fast food places near the parks? If so what parks are they near? How do you get there?

We are thinking about leaving for lunch and taking a mid afternoon break but I am sure we will stay at the parks until we are starving. So we need someplace close and fast, budget would be a nice perk too.

There's a big McDonalds in Downtown Disney. Otherwise if you have a vehicle and head to Animal Kingdom Lodge and make a left at the lights just before the Lodge ( intersection of Osceola Parkway and Sherberth Rd. ) Follow Sherberth to 192 (about a mile) and there's a Wendy's, McDonalds, BurgerKing, Golden Coral and lots more within a mile. If you look at this map it's the road highlighted in red (Line 1)

There is a Mc Donalds near the AllStar resorts (near AK)and one at DTD. The prices are not "normal" Mc Donalds, but more comparable to Disney prices. We have found we did not really "save" money or time.

If you have a car, there is a Burger King, Wendy's and Chik Fil A on 535. (Close to DTD).

Chick-Fil-A Is the best fast food joint in all the land :)

I agree.

My kids are super picky. Last year during free dining they ate peanut butter and pop tarts in our room. They did not eat any disney food and it was FREE.

So I was hoping that if we left the parks to eat and rest we could feed them anything they wanted. That way maybe they would eat on this vacation.

Jungle Jim's at Crossroads is terrific! It's a TS but the prices are good and the food tastes great.

Another vote for Jungle Jim's and Crossroads in general!

Crossroads is right across from the entrance to DTD on SR 535 and has a McDonalds and a Taco Bell, in addition to a number of great, family friendly TS restaurant chains like the aforementioned Jungle Jim's, T.G.I.Friday's, Chevy's, Pizzeria Uno, etc...

Actually, if you drive up and down 535, you'll find just about every chain restaurant known to man...

Wolfgang Puck Express and Earl of Sandwich both in DTD were reasonable for eating too - both had kids menus available too :cool1: .
For a treat for the kids also go to Goofys Candy store - my mouth is watering just thinking about it :cloud9: .

Enjoy.........:wizard:

As other have said you can find every fast and nonfast food known to man outside the parks, it just depends on which direction you go. If you are going for a midafternoon break is that to your hotel?

Yes, We are booked at WH. I have only been to disney once and we stayed on-site and had the dining plan. We only went for 7 days. This time we are going for 10 days and plan on taking lots of breaks. That way we can really enjoy it. kids are very picky but LOVE chick fil a. Also some of the other local places sound great. We could pick up chick fil a for kids and go someplace else for DH and me!! Thanks for all the great tips! Keep 'em coming!:cool1:

Not sure how to edit my post so here is the correction.

We will be at disney 10 days. In orlando 15 days. So plenty of time to try out different places.

There should be an EDIT tab (scissors) beside the QUOTE tab at the bottom of your post, just click it and you can add or delete then click on the SAVE.
