Fashion Faux Pas?

What, over the years, was your biggest fashion/beauty blooper??
A period where you wish all pictures of you would just "disapear."

My Senior portrait still hangs in my parents living room. I so wish they'd take it down. Every time I vist I'm reminded of the frosty-pink lipstick, way too heavy blush, eyeliner and mascara. And a set of mallbangs about 4 inches high... yikes. sigh.

But for the time- you were smokin' hot!

I wouldn't change anything. Yes the pictures are funny, maybe the electric blue eyeliner & shadow were a bit much and the Whitesnake hair was a bit large but it all reminds me of the funniest memories. Going to Battle of the Bands concerts, Seaside Heights, sneaking into NYC Clubs... its all good:goodvibes The hair, makeup & clothes were part of the uniform and I loved every minute of it. I say embrace it!

My mom and dad had a family portrait painted in 1990-UGH. Everyone looks ok but I HATE my hair. It's a short perm. I told her that I'm going to get an artist to paint good hair on me.

OP, I hear what you're saying, but I think it's kind of fun to see those pictures. My kids think it's hysterical to see pictures of me with my gravity-defying bangs.

Don't tell me--you graduated in the 80's? My hair is very straight and somewhat fine so my senior picture doesn't have "mall bangs" (only because my hair wouldn't do it!). It does, however, show my high-necked Victorian-lace looking blouse which I thought was just beautiful back then, :rotfl2:

In the late 80s, body waves were popular. My hair was fine and never did much of anything, so I thought this would be a good idea. Well, it wasn't. I ended up with old lady helmet hair and looked like June Cleaver for a while. Not the look you're going for when you're in your early twenties.

It's not a faux pas if it was in fashion at the time!

The main purpose of high school yearbooks is so your kids can laugh themselves silly over your pictures 20 years down the road.

Colored jeans in the early 1990s. Why did I think bright green jeans was a good idea?
