Farewell to a good and decent man

I had the pleasure of working with Dan Allen as part of the Holy Cross football family from 1984-1990 (at which time he was an assistant coach before becoming the head coach at Boston University). He and his colleagues were some of the most decent and caring individuals I have ever been around, and have gone on to outstanding coaching careers (including at least three NFL coordinators and one current NFL head coach who were assistants on the same staff as Dan). Though 48 is a very young age to die, Dan Allen leaves a legacy of young people whose lives he positively influenced. I am proud to have crossed paths with him for a few years of our lives.
