Anyone here done a farewell brunch the day after their wedding? I'd love to hear some thoughts on it and/or details that you can share. :bride:

We did a brunch the day after the wedding. It was a small group (12 total). We wanted something fun but didn't really want a character meal or to make everyone buy park tickets so we did it at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. It was great, everyone really enjoyed it, and it was nice to have the time to say good-bye before most of them went home.

We had a farewell breakfast at 1900 PF. Everyone had a great time!

we told everyone we were eating at whispering canyon in WL and if they wanted to join us they were more than welcome we made reservation for about 10 people we knew for sure fr some who was coming, but put a menu in it with the prices and everyone just paid for them selves then no one felt obligated to come.

We are going to be doing breakfast the next day at Crystal Palace for everyone..it's not really a "farewell brunch" as we're having a "farewell dinner" that night at Biergarten in Germany...

But I think Crystal Palace is always so much fun, I'm hoping everyone will enjoy it before they head out to spend time in the parks...

We are doing one at 1900 park fare as well. We thought about places like the crystal palace and all but not all our guests might have park access!

Thanks everyone for your responses! Does anyone mind describing roughly what they spent to do this?

At the time DH had the Disney discount dining card (can't remember what it was called exactly) so I think that gave us 10% or 15% off. For 12 people we spent probably $200-$250 for brunch, including the tip. I'm so glad we did it, and DH actually said he was glad too, because we had an Escape wedding so there wasn't a proper reception and the brunch gave us all a chance to sit down and spend time together and talk about the wedding. And, of course, being Whispering Canyon Cafe, we got called up to the front and embarrassed by the servers - but it was all fun!

We had one booked at 1900 Park Fare, but ended up the night before deciding not to have it. We had several guests about 7 of them that got their Magical Express pick-up times the day of the wedding that wouldn't have given them enough time to get back for the shuttle. Plus, we had a morning wedding at Epcot ending that night with a dessert party and the rest of us were pretty tired and wanted to sleep in :rotfl: We had so many people say they wouldn't be able to make it we just decided to cancel it. We had a lot of other group meals scheduled throughout the week though, so it worked out fine for our group.

We had our "farewell brunch" at Kona Cafe at the Polynesian. It's where my husband and I stayed the night before, so we made people come to us (everyone else was at Pop Century). There were about 14 of us. We had great service! And they even brought us a congratulatory dessert at 9:30am!

We did a farewell brunch at the Gaylord Palms since it is one of my mom's favorite hotels. They do a Sunday brunch at one of the restraunts inside, but its all open, with all the gardens around it (the entire courtyard of the Gaylord Palms, where the glass roof is is all tropical gardens) Everyone seemed to really enjoy it, i think it was $25 a person and we preferred the buffet they had there to the ones on property for a large group (I think there were 20 of us)
