Fares from Newark??

We are flying 4/6 and returning 4/14. We were looking for fares during the summer when the rates first came out and we couldn't get anything out of Newark for less than $500. We opted to fly Delta out of JFK for $271 RT.

What type of prices are you see?ing

We priced Newark, Philly, allentown, AC and balitmore....

Baltimore had the best price with a reasonable commute!

Try Jet Blue. Usually they're pretty good. Also keep in mind if you're using an online website like Expedia they only list the airlines they're contracted with. Try the websites of the airlines that fly from Newark and you may find alternative flights that are attractive.

Try Sidestep.com, which will compare prices on several airlines at once. They show the actual airfare, including taxes and fees. I've used them to find good fares for my last couple of trips.

Also, check out farecast.com, which predicts prices of airfare for, I think, up to 90 days in advance. It can give you some idea of whether the fares may go up or down.

If this is any help, we're flying Continental out of Newark in 3 weeks. Round-trip fare to MCO was $217, but went as low as $157 at some point. I actually bought my tickets too soon!

We're flying JetBlue a week later and it's less than $1000 for a family of 4.
DS will have just turned 2 so he needs his on seat

We chose JetBlue too..we are flying the 14th-22nd and got r/t at 219.00 a person. Nobody else even came close to that for our dates.

Hmm, we're trying for 4/15 - 4/22 and JetBlue is over $300 per person r/t right now. I'll have to check some of the suggested websites - thanks for the tips.

I live in Teaneck, it takes exactly 25 minutes to get to LGA airport from here. There are many more choices for a direct round trip to MCO. If you deceide on LGA, make sure that it is not during rush hour.

We ran into the same problem, and we're flying probably the same time as you want to fly - 3/31 - 4/7. I had been pricing out everything and nothing was under $300 P/P unless I flew Trenton/Boston/Orlando.

Somehow a few weeks ago, I got Jet Blue from NWK - Tampa for $99 each way. I booked it right away. I don't mind the 1 hour drive from Tampa if it saved me driving to LaGuardia or spending an extra $500 on tickets.

Don't know why flying out of Newark to Orlando is so expensive - it's cheaper to fly to London.

Good luck, and look at fares every day - check JetBlue, Spirit out of LGA or ACY, etc.

Remember too that you should periodically check fares after you've booked your tickets. Case in point? I've had two reductions by Jet Blue since I originally bought my tickets for an upcoming trip. I was given a credit each time it happened as soon as I called their customer service department.

Wow, I also live in Chester County, (East Fallowfield) going the exact same days. I priced all the same airports, and we are leaving out of Baltimore on Delta $1200 for six people. Could you pick your seats with the Airtran flight or is that the price without assigned seats?

Hi, neighbor-I'm one town over--and we have started flying out of JFK because the prices are usually so much cheaper than EWR.
(Though we flew Continental form Newark to Orlando in Dec.-1st time in years it's been cheaper than JetBlue out of JFK)
I would do LGA as well, just haven't found the cheapest rates there for when we go--I always look though!

We are going to WDW 4/21 and I have been seeing around $300 p/p from all the area airports-I just snagged JFK-MCO for $242 p/p-I waited a day too long-it was $217, but DH had to make sure he got his vacation approved.

Where in Bergen County are you???? I went on a Disney Cruise this past Nov 2006 for Thanksgiving. I bumped into Shelleyr25 who lives in Paramus. Small Small world.

Do you ever travel Jersey week? I think $242.00 RT non stop is a great price for the time that you are traveling. The prices have been very high. I usually pay 150.00 RT Nonstop for Jersey Week for the last 4 years. This year was the highest at 200.00

Are you going for Easter? Where are you staying?
