FAO Schwarz

Hi all
Does anyone know if there is still and FAO Schwarz at Pointe Orlando still?
If anyone is gonna be on International Drive in the next week or so.... can ya just lok and see if the signs are still up as you go past!

Hi...news has it that the FAO store in Pointe Orlando -- like most of them across the country -- has closed. Which is a shame, because it was a really neat store.

When I was last there in March it was all closed up. The toys were still outside...dont know how long for though.

I loved looking around this store...miss it now

I don't think there are any plans to bring FAO back. Sad.

FAO which was owned by the Right Start Inc who also owned Zany Brainy declared bankruptcy last November. That was after they had already declared Chapter 11 earlier last year, had major store closings and major clearance sales. They pulled out of it the first time, but the creditors were not willing to negotiate the second time. As a former Zany Brainy employee, I have an opinion why that was, but suffice it to say that all the stores are closed and have been since at least Jan. I believe the Orlando store closed in the first round of consolidation. The famous Times Square store is now a Toys R Us, I believe--a darn smart move on TRUs part, which is one of the many reasons they are still open!
