I just found out from that evil website miceage saying Fantasyland Theatre will be demolished due of the railroad change for Star Wars land. http://micechat.com/111703-miceage-star-wars-disneyland/

And here's my reaction for it:

No! No! No! Don't do this, Disneyland! Please don't! It's not fair! I know it's a rumor but it maybe true! I don't want Disneyland to get rid of Fantasyland Theatre again........unless, they make a new theatre like from Tomorrowland for instance the one where Magic Eye Theater is. But still, I don't want to lose another theatre that I keep obsessing about many years ago. It's so not fair! Disneyland won't be the same without a stage show. WDW has Dream Along With Mickey, TDL has One Man's Dream II: The Magic Lives on, HKDL is getting a new show called Mickey and the Wondrous Book, even DLP is rumored it will get a new show. We need a stage show for Disneyland if Fantasyland Theatre is gone forever. I don't want this happen. Please tell me this is a big fat lie!:scared:

Unfortunately not, from what I was told. I was just at Disneyland a couple weeks ago and dined at the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. The server we had spoke with us quite extensively about the changes coming to the park with the addition of Star Wars land. Disney big wigs are trying to figure out some other area to build another theater in but it didn't seem like he had high expectations of that working out. He was very forthcoming about how hesitant the cast members are about all of the areas of the park that will be removed/demolished to make room for the new land, including the removal Big Thunder Ranch BBQ which has always been a favorite with my family. He was also very honest about being concerned for his job, or rather the number of hours he works, though they've said that cast members will be relocated to "other areas" during construction, he doesn't think there are in fact enough other "other areas" to accommodate all of the cast members that will be displaced since the project is so large and will effect so many cast members.

While I'm not saying what the server said isn't true I'm just going to throw it out there that front line CMs often do not know any more than what is posted on rumors sites like this and micechat.

Thank you.

While this is true, we do know that Big Thunder BBQ will be closing and the CMs there have been very accurate for this much information since they had to be told in advance due to contract requirements.

They also have a lot more information at their disposal than normal, due to their location getting imagineers coming through a lot and their willingness to say things, even to guests.

So, while I would say its guaranteed, I would say that it is quite possible that this rumor is true.

Ever since I heard a rumor from that evil website Micechat, I'm worried about the fate of Fantasyland Theatre. If Fantasyland Theatre is going to be demolished, will Disneyland build a new theatre for stage shows? I mean, Tomorrowland Theatre maybe a number one choice for a new theatre for stage shows. But I don't want lose Fantasyland Theatre and Mickey and the Magical Map yet. I love that show. Even the people at micechat are being hypocrites that they don't want a stage show. I hope this cruel and heartless rumor is not true. Disneyland needs a stage show.

I hate to be the one to say it but Disneyland is not a museum things change. Not everything is forever.

Yeah, but still, Disneyland needs a stage show like Mickey and the Magical Map. So they need to come up a new theater if the rumor is true!

This is the problem at dl they just don't have the space. Maybe they are trying to push star wars land into a park that doesn't need it. Dhs, is an obvious win for sw land.

^ Oh come on!
It's true to an extent. Disney has room to increase parking and essentially build a third gate if they really wanted to but they aren't doing either at the moment. To be honest most disneylanders are more concerned with the major closures and reroutings in frontierland rather than a stage show.

Looking at maps and even MiceChat's own map, it's not immediately clear why they have to demolish the theater. It can easily be avoided by moving the tracks over by a couple feet. Why would they demolish the theater for a potential project a decade out? It seems strange.

The one reason I could picture, is if they intended to destroy the theater to open up greater access to that area in order to get into Star Wars Land. All the same, it seems way too early to make any judgements on whether it's leaving or not. I do agree that having a strong stage show seems like something that's been in Disneyland's DNA from the beginning. Continuing that legacy is important.

All this talk is about a potential New Fantasyland, which is an interesting idea. It seems like they're designing Star Wars Land so as to accommodate future expansion. That's a great thing. Disney should have two E Ticket's in development right now based on two hot properties. They could go the Beauty and the Beast route, have an expansive meet and greet, Be Our Guest Restaurant, and of course the anchor ride. They could always choose to port over the Frozen E Ticket too, and then create an expansive new Frozen Land. Either one would work. There's always the Snow White's Mine Train Route. That seems more unlikely. The fact Disney is even considering this, when they have three new E Tickets in the works, expansive lands, and 8 thousands more parking spot being built is impressive. Disneyland is getting serious work done that will rival or even surpass the DCA redo.

Disney is getting serious about the parks.
