Planning this trip to WDW seems to be overwhelming. Trying to plan ride stategies....When our family meeting was held yesterday, I presented my thoughts and asked for suggestions.
To my surprise my daughters (ages 8 & 9 ) who are really seasoned thrill riders for their small age seem to feel like they are too big for most of the fantasyland rides. They want to go directly to Space Mountain. My kids are taller and bigger than other kids in their classes at school and I could see where they may feel like this....For those of you that have been to Fantasyland are the rides for younger kids?

If you have never been to WDW and have never seen the theming in some of the Fantasyland rides, then I think you should definately go on them. Peter Pan, Snow White and the Pooh ride have such great details and they are among my favorites and I am in my 30's. I would skip Dumbo, the tea cups, and Cinderella's carrousel unless your children expressed interest when they are in that area.

I don't think anyone is too old for Fantasyland! I'm just back with my DH and 19 yo DN and her DBF. We did most of the rides in Fantasyland-outside of Snow White and IASW and had a good time. Of course, we did do the "mountains" first on our first morning there, but think the Fantasyland rides are fun in their own way. Don't forget to try the Barnstormer in Toontown. That turned out to be one of our favorites - of course, we did it with no waiting, so that was part of the appeal.

Too old for Fantasyland?! I'm 31 and I still love it!! I can't miss Peter Pan every time I go. My DD is 8 and she loves Fantasyland. She wouldn't miss it!

My then 9 and 10 year old boys rode everything and enjoyed it. Their favorites were Pooh and Peter Pan, and of course Philharmagic. We even rode Dumbo twice!

I think as with everything at Disney you gotta give it a try! I would tell those who aren't massive fans of roller coasters to check out Big Thunder Moutain because its such an experience. In the same way I think you should have a look at Fantasyland - its got such a great atmosphere.

Like others I think you should focus on the best rides - Pooh, Peter Pan and Mickey's Philharmagic. Be aware that Fantasyland gets VERY busy so the best time to see things in first thing in the morning. Unfortunately that's the best time to see the Mountains too. If you have two mornings do the Moutains on morning 1 (Space then Splash then Thunder) and Fantasyland the next.

I'm 40 and I love the Fantasyland rides. You're never too old.

Dd, 10, loves BTMRR and Space Mt. but she adores FantasyLand. We could never miss it. She's tall for her age also but she doesn't care about looking like she's 12-13 and enjoying FantasyLand!!!

I'm 29 and I run to Fantasyland first!!! You are never too old. They will love it. Definitely don't skip!

Thanks everyone. I am going to print out this thread and share it at our next wdw meeting. I think this will help prove my point. I think the problem is we are comparing WDW to places such as six flags, kings island and carrowinds. I think our family is going to be surprised at the vastness of WDW. It is something you just can not imagine until you get there, I assume. Kind of like seeing the Ocean for the first time.

I'm 30. I would never skip Fantasyland. I wouldn't do dumbo, or the Carousel (w/o my kids), but I consider the rest to be don't miss. I love the thrill rides but Fantasyland IS Disney.
