I thought that you had to pay for port adventures before you left....do you not have to anymore or am I just imagining things?? Just booked the Pirates league and it says I'm confirmed but there is no way to pay....don't want to loose my reservation cause I can't figure out the next step LOL!

My understanding is our ship board account will be charged at the time of each excursion. Or in this case BBB treatment. That being said, i think there is also cancellation policies and fees for no-shows without advance notice. Glad you got your booking! princess:pirate:

Can someone on this thread volunteer to help me with a onboard merchandise purchase? Please PM me if possible. Thanks.

Very cool...thanks for your help!

Got a lot of it done tonight, feel much better we will get it all in in two suitcases and garmet bag! Even gout our BBB package booked for our DD....who insists on Rapunzelprincess:

frantic, frantic, frantic!!!! So many little details to be finished before we're all gone for a week!!!! Stop the mail, make sure my instructors at the gym are all "in the loop", pack, turn the change in for $1 bills for tip money, mow, change the litter box, pack, make sure the friend taking care of the cats has the key, pack, and the list goes ooooon!!!! Sooo ready!!!!!

On a funnier note...I had to crush 15 yo DS dreams today and tell him that under NO circumstances was he allowed to go to the bathroom off the side of the ship :scared1:

I might have to crush my DH's dreams and remind him of this same thing! Just because he is double your son's age doesn't mean they might not share the same thoughts

Etiquette question...what is the going rate for tipping the luggage handlers at the port? Is it still $1-$2/bag? I'm really OCD and am finishing up my individual tip envelopes so I have everything ready to just hand out. Between the 5 of us, I think we will be checking 7 bags...2 big suitcases, 1 small suitcase, 1 backpack (DS is a boy scout and insists on packing in his hiking pack. Not worth arguing), 1 garment bag, and 2 small toiletry cases. Is $10 appropriate, or not enough? Be honest!

Taswira...did you ever set a time on Monday for the group meet in Oh La La? We won't be at the breakfast b/c we don't own a Duffy and couldn't justify the expense with so many other expenses coming up :sad2:. The website said that you'd announce the champagne meet time at breakfast, but I don't want to miss it...I do LOVE champagne!!!

I switched it to Monday so it won't conflict with the captain's welcome reception Sunday, and I don't think there is a main (Broadway-style) Disney show on Monday. Ooh La La SHOULD open at 5 pm unless they change that. So I'd say look for us there just after 5? I just updated it to 5 p.m. on the website. We may be there after dinner also, but we have late dining so I have to make that TENTATIVELY around 10:30 p.m. That's a bit more difficult for us as we'd have to go back to our suite to get the bears first, since they will not be joining us for dinners. :rotfl2:

When I check a bag (which I am not doing this time), I usually give $2 for my medium sized wheeled bag.

You mentioned small toiletry cases. Are you checking those? DCL requests that you not have ANY liquids in checked luggage. EVERYTHING that is checked is more or less "thrown" into one big pile in luggage rooms until delivery. It's like Mount Everest made of suitcases and bags. Anything you check is subject to possible rough handling and ending up crushed at the bottom of the pile.

Thank you for posting this! I will need to repack during our Orlando overnight so that all our liquids are in a carryon for the cruise.

Wow sad to be home, what a great vacation! Ship was a bit large and overwhelming at first, but we had a great time and are booked again for the same week next year, same room!:cool1:

Hope everybody that is not staying in the parks for a day or 2 made it home safely. We had such a great week, and some of the pixie dusting we received was beyond what I had hoped for.
I hate that we didn't make it to any of the meets! DD got motion sick for the first time ever, and the patch gave her severely blurred vision. If it isn't 1 thing, it's another. Anyway, the few scheduled meet times I seemed to be taking care of her, or at the disposal of the cruise staff for our pixie dusting.
Ahhh, the pixie dust...there was much spread around, but here's my favorite:

Upon boarding I stopped by guest services to take care of my checklist (extra keys for the extra rooms, tips, tastings, etc) I figured...1 stop will do me for the week. I asked Helen(who was AWESOME!!) about DD graduation. Georgia Home Educators Association graduation was Friday while we were at CC...obviously we missed that. Explained her situation with the military and then getting sick, etc. Asked if there was any way to have the captain present her with her diploma. She said she would email the captain's assistant and get back to me. Since I never miss an opportunity, I spoke with Captain Marco at the Castaway Club reception Sunday morning. He said it would be his honor!!! I relayed the message to Helen in guest services. After playing phone tag with Libo (Captain's assistant) for a few days (I didn't realize that he was calling wave phone #1 and I was calling #2-didn't know there was a difference...DUH!) we got it set up. Libo set up the ceremony for us in Outlook on Thursday. Not only did the Captain come, but ALL the senior officers, AND Mickey!!! Can't wait to post a picture. I'm still trying to figure out the CD we bought. Ugh!!

Got it...here she is! Notice the graduation Mickey ears :goodvibes

<sigh>...back to reality and work today. I guess it's a really good thing I love my job! My students were most excited to hear that I got to see Phineas and Ferb and have my picture made with them :lmao:
